So far 7 men have retired during a match at the USO. Open Era record for retirements in a major is 10(per Chris Fowler)

Is there a bug going around? food poisoning?

Wow. And that's after less than 4 days.

    Poly strings certainly don't help.

    & the womens draw has 4 'ret's' & 2 walkovers. so far.

there were some player withdrawls before 1st round as well, but its a bit harder to research that.

64 of the 127 matches are played in 3 days, so the tournament is more than half over.

Perhaps it the gluten-free diet that is catching. Emulate the #1 player in too many ways and there are dangerous side effects.

Tennis players are soft. Period. They're free agents--no team, no city, nothing. When they are way down and they don't have the heart or the will to come back, they through in the towel. It's one of the only lame things about our beloved sport.

We're still in the first week yet. I do hope we don't get them during the second week from the quarters onwards.

I hope that does not happen, if they play.

I want to see a good semi, IF they both play each other.

In a match up between them in a hard court slam, yes, I agree. But that does not mean I want Rafa to retire against him, I would want to see a good match for sure.
