It's too late to pick if the match has started right? If not, i wanted Djokovic. If it is too late, I'll take Murray.

Whoops, forgot to make a pick. But oh well, I would've picked Murray anyway.

Well, dang it. Should've split my two picks. I was confident Murray would win that match. Overconfident, it seems.

1 pick every day.....is tough considering there are only 8 players. Anyone in top8 should be able to beat each other.....no one could have made it.

Remember last year....no one got to the semis.

Thankfully we all had a clean state in Semi. If it gets harder next year....mayve we will all tank.

^ There were some real opportunities for many of us to get booted. For instance Tipsy sure had his chances vs. Ferrer.

I don't think the format was too easy. This just happened to be a much more predictable tournament (for sure in the RR stages) than is usually the case imo. If we had this same format last year, still most people would have been out quickly (Ferrer beating Murray, Tipsy beating Djokovic, etc).

I'd expect next year (and a general year, on average) to have a much lower success rate than this year even with the same format.

    2012 ATP WORLD TOUR FINALS

Congratulations to ark_28 for capturing his third SDL title of the season. What a way to end a terrific season! Well done to the rest of the runner-ups at the event.

    ATP SDL ELITE EIGHT EVENT

Congratulations to ark_28, dcdoorknob, jamesblakefan#1 and Locotus for finishing the furthest in this year's elite eight event. As the top point getter, you've won yourself one classy prize:

For one event next year of your choice, you will have the chance to revive yourself at any tournament in the event that a player you have chosen has eliminated you. For example, if ark_28 chose Cilic for the Australian Open, and Cilic was eliminated, ark_28 can choose to use his Elite Eight prize to revive himself. HOWEVER, you must choose a replacement pick for same order of play in to revive yourself and continue on with the tournament. Once you have used that player, you cannot use him again for the remainder of the tournament. If the player you have chosen to revive yourself lost, you will also be eliminated. This prize cannot be used if the player you picked was the playing the last match of the day.
    ..Does this make sense?

I will remind the four of you about your prize at the beginning of the season.

As a result of the runner-up finish, congratulations to Locotus for topping the 2012 rankings as the YE#1. Well done! Props to Eternity and ******** for finishing in 2nd and 3rd place in the rankings. Respects to jamesblakefan#1 for holding on the #1 ranking for a large part of the 2nd half of the season.

Thank you to CDNguy87 and kishnabe for their help this season. Without you guys, this game would not have been run well.

Most importantly, thank you to all of the participants. This game would not have existed without you guys.

Have a safe and fun holiday. See you at the 2013 Australian Open!

Thanks Jay, this is a great game and it must take a lot of time to run it. I can't wait to play a full season next year! Congrats to everyone who participated.

P.S. My points for the YEC have not been added in the rankings :D Thanks!

Thanks all! Year end #1 do feels great though maybe not well deserved. JBF basically had it in his pocket until Bercy. I guess his wrath will be unleashed upon us all at AO where he has less points to defend :?

A classy prize for 2013 is great. Caveat suggestion:
the replacement pick must be from the PAYOR-list.

Thanks to Jay and the rest of the SDL-team for running this great game.

While I do like the idea, I don't think it will work.

Example: Say you reached the Aussie Open quarter-finals and you were eliminated by Cilic (yes I like using his name because he is an original member of the list) and you wanted to use the prize but no other members on the PHAYOR list does not appear. Obviously, you would not be able to use it, but you really wanted to since it is a GS event. I don't think it would be fair that you couldn't use the prize that you earned. Plus, this list is constantly changing so that is another reason why I don't want to limit the player to use the PHAYOR list as we continually add people to the list.
