    The Rules

    1. Every day of the tournament that day's matches will be posted. You pick one player who you think is going to win. It's a knock out-system: if the player you picked wins, you're through to the next round. If he loses, you're out.

    2. Till the quarterfinals, you have to pick one player per day. In the quarters, semis and finals you pick one player per round.

    3. During a tournament, you can pick a player only ONCE. Obviously it's important to make smart choices in order to get far. If you somehow have no players left to pick, you're out as well.

    4. You can't pick a player from a match that has started already.

    5. If the player you picked retires during the match, you're out. In case of a walk-over, you're allowed to change your pick.

    6. If you want to change you pick, make a new post quoting the old pick. Edited posts containing picks will not be taken into account.

    SCORE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT
    1 correct pick: 35
    2 correct picks: 70
    3 correct picks: 105
    4 correct picks: 140
    5 correct picks: 180
    6 correct picks: 300
    Winner: 500

    Starts February 13th

    I'm in.

BTW, If someone's read the book Dear Nobody would that person mind writing a review of it and an opinion in a mail to me? I have to read it for English and I'm a terrible reader...

    Roquefort is amazing.

Or cheeses based on roquefort, like Kvibille √Ądel which is a type of cheese I buy not for nice occasions, but just to eat in one sitting, kind of like chips.

Meh I just dislike cheese in general.

Except when it's used in pizza's. Cuz pizza's are awesome.

So can we get a ruling on if we need to pick from those 4 matches for day 1, or if we'll do a combined day1/2 type thing? I know in the past if there's only been 2 or 3 matches on the first day we've let people pick any match from the first 2 days, but I don't know what the call is when there are 4 matches.

How good. It's 1:06 AM, I haven't read a 200-page book yet which means that I have to compile a review from various google sources (and that review is due today...) and I'm extremely tired, which means that I'm constantly losing focus, like picking Gasquet on day 1.

Until you agreed mozzarella was good, I thought you were turophobic. I got to be a Gouda fan after tasting some fresh Gouda at a cheese festival in Alkmaar while on vacation in the Netherlands. Yummy! As to pizza, try a pizza Bianca...loads of ricotta cheese with a bit of mozzarella, fresh garlic and basil and no tomato sauce. Top it with fresh sliced tomatoes and you have my favorite pie.

Nope. You have to pick from those 4 matches for day 1. Last year when aldeayeah ran Rotterdam, all players had to choose matches from each day of play.

So there is no day 1/2 type thing here.

What I don't understand is... Why is Simon playing the 250 in brazil on clay when he could be playing the 500 event in Rotterdam. He's number 12 in the world for gosh sakes, could play anywhere he wants to.

Maybe he just wanted to take a vacation in brazil too, lol

I'm sure there's at least one NYstyle pizzeria in Houston that makes a pizza Bianca. Try a slice...if you like real pizza, you'll love it!

May not be such a bad choice for him. Although Rotterdam is obviously double the potential points, he'd be up against a much tougher field. He should be able to at least make the finals in Brazil if not win it (depending on how tough Almagro is), which is 150-250 points. By comparsion, getting to the semis at Rotterdam is 180 and a finals appearance is 300. However, he'd have to contend with the likes of Federer, Berdych, Delpo, Gasquet, Dolgo, Troicki....thus, even getting to the semis and earning 180 points would be far from guaranteed (and getting any further seems highly unlikely).

Mid-summer Brazil vs. mid-winter Holland may have helped his decision a bit too.
