Fed in 2. If he doesn't he better up his game pronto! Tipsy is maybe the weakest player in the whole event, though thinking about it Tsonga might have that dubious honor

As sets won and lost can have a say in case of a tie, if a player resigns does the other player get the full 2-0 of a straight set match or just the 1?

    Can't watch, lol.

Luckily it's only Tipsy, Fed should handle him no problem.

You can show in OP H2H between these two players, statistics, form, chance, opportunities, latest matches, some records etc, not just ask some question! Is he ready? We'll see! What hat-trick? Hat trick (3 wins in group) or hat trick (3 titles in a row)?

Btw, where is Lukas Rosol in poll options? :)

Tough call. I really don't know who has the advantage here. It could go either way; a true toss-up if there ever was one. All of these match polls should have an 'undecided' option, for people like me.

Actually Tsonga really has the worst record vs top 8 players this year, he's only won one match vs them against Delpo. I think Tipsy might only have one win but it was against Djokovic.

its tedious and helps drag out matches..there are trials in the challengers in 2013 with no let, and if it is popular then its gonna be on main tour after that,

It was still a gift. It way funny how Tipsarevic gloats about his wins against Novak at Madrid and WTF. Even though both were Novak tanking for his best friend.

Too bad Stainslas does not have a good friend in Roger.

As Goose says it wastes time. Also, it robs flat servers of aces. Players deal with the net after the serve, why not on serve? I guess in favor of the rule, some serves would dribble over for an ace. I don't see that as a big problem. No one could aim serves to hit the top of the net without risking faulting or slowing down the serve into an easier return. And, Johnny Mac doesn't like the let rule so it must be bad.

I don't know if you understand the magnitude of the consequences of changing this rule. Now it's usual for a server to hold his serve. If the let rule disappears, that might not be the case. A serve that clips the net and is slowed down can easily be hit away for a return winner. This will also give an (even larger) advantage to tall players because they have a bigger margin to work with in clearing the net.

Seriously though,if something like this happens at the WTF,how will the result be ranked? With so many things that can influence the group at the end, like sets or games %,how will this result be recorded. They can`t give Federer at 2-0 sets won/lost and that would be a disadvantage to him so plz anyone that knows the rules, post here.

I would say that opponent wins all remaining games? So even If you retire at 2-1 its 6-1 6-0

Big servers will be hurt as well when the ball clips the not and floats in for an easy return.

Sports Illustrated recently asked a tennis writer, who says it makes little difference in Challengers and elsewhere:

Today’s Toss: Is the ATP on the right path with its proposed rule changes on no-let serving and new time-violation penalties?
    . . .
Ben Rothenberg: I’ve seen no-let play in action in a couple of formats: World TeamTennis and NCAA men’s tennis. As an interesting aside, it’s only a rule in college for men, not women. College tennis guru Colette Lewis explains that the men (who call their own lines) used to say “let” after they got aced, which was never a female practice.

In my experience seeing it in action, it really doesn’t affect play all that much. Most serves that hit the tape barely touch it, and the serve trajectory is almost unchanged. Then there are those that hit the tape but still keep going forward with decent velocity in a slightly different direction, which forces the returner into quick footwork but generally doesn’t change the point. The smallest percentage of serves are the ones that hit the tape and then fall very short in the box, forcing the returner to run forward to get the ball before a second bounce. These are definitely rare, and when the returner can get there in time he or she can usually whack away an easy winner just as often as he or she is unable to reach it.

In other words, it’s a net-neutral change. It speeds up matches, and I agree with Billie Jean King that there’s no reason to redo serves when hitting the tape with normal rally shots are not. Does it allow for slightly more luck? Sure, but anyone who thinks there isn’t a massive amount of luck involved in tennis (and life) is in denial.

Some players on the Challenger circuit don’t seem thrilled by being made the guinea pigs for this experiment, but they should realize pretty quickly that the switch isn’t all that significant in the end.
