Thanks for all the research on your chosen set of "lucky winners". No one disputes great teams find a way to win close games. Really great teams don't have to do it so often. I still say winning five games at home by seven or less vs the likes of Purdue, Michigan, BYU, Stanford and Pitt is pretty flimsy evidence of a truly great team...at least Auburn's run included victories in the SEC on the road. As for LSU, that was a sad year for the BCS system...a two-loss team winning the championship should have made the evolution to a playoffs an immediate reality.
