Maybe that extra day off threw off his rhythm

Berd truly owns Fed mentally I believe for some weird reason. Plus he's playing great. Lights out.

Actually, I just looked it up and Murray's H2H with Berd is not good...2 Murray, 4 Berd. But it does appear they tend to do battle for more than the minimum sets.

Yet...Fed's H2H against Berd is strong. So WTF?

Fed must be disturbed by Andy's retirement right now

A heavy racquet and long arms = higher torque and momentum.

Why the fck does Berdych grin like that? It's not like he never gets those kind of shots to go in too.

Finally a sweet forehand pass Roger. Too bad it's not gonna help you much.

    Fed breaks.

This match is gonna be like the Cilic/Murray match.

Fed will win this set, and steamroll the next 2.

it seems now Federer has got the the (st)age where he will get blown away in best of 5 more often. Never happened in his prime 2004-2007 except vs Guga, then happened twice in 2008.

This year got done in straights in RG, the olympic final and looking like it could be straight sets here.

Really hope Roger can pull this out of the fire but he's not playing well enough and Berdych is hitting with confidence..

oh NOW you get a break back. Come on Roger, do a "Murray" and come back from a double break

I sense a racquet smash, another UE from the FH side and that racquet is history!

Berdych playing like Del Potro in 2009.

Only hope is if Federer REALLY picks up his game and Berdych starts making errors, which is extremely unlikely.

He's going to take this set to a tiebreak and win it..and even if he doesn't, he will win the last 3 sets. Done it before this year, twice

Their one GS meeting came at the FO which Berdych won. Their last hardcourt meeting was at Dubai this year which Murray won, while Berdych beat Murray at MC this year. I'd give murray a 60-40 chance to win, all depends on which Andy and Tomas show up

The only slam they've met in was the French which Berdych won easily.

They're split 2-2 on hard court meetings. *Actually one of Murray's wins was carpet, so 2-1 Berdych*

Its fun reading these comments....the thread is full of both Fed teeny boppers and haters. I am just hoping for a good match lol.

But enjoy it while it lasts. Soon enough fed will actually be retired and you just might miss his game.

Federer fans are just disappointed that Fed has recently been playing lights out (Cincy and here at the USO), but tonight seems to have absolutely NO GAME whatsoever. I think he's got more UE's this match than his previous 3 matches combined. It's ridiculous.
