I've watched Li Na from courtside slam seats and the mental fragility just emanates in waves. She always gives her fans hope, and then...
Oh well, happy for Azarenka. A worthy YE#1.

I still can't get over her AO loss to Clijsters. Ankle injury and 4 MPs.:-?

Watching some of this with my daughters right now and they keep asking why Azarenka makes so much noise. You know it's too much when a 4 year-old who makes loud noises all day long thinks it's annoying :)

She must have the record this year for most matches lost after holding a set or break lead. It's really incredible how she plays fantastic tennis only to give away the match when it's right in front of her. I'd like to say I see next year as one of improvement with her new coach and consistency, but you can't just fix her brain.

At least she's been light on the scheduling. Might still stick around a few years.

Two 3 hour matches and has Serena waiting for her tommorow... one can only pray for Radwanska. But who expected Rosol to beat Nadal?? Cmon Aga.

So it's Williams vs Radwanska & Azarenka vs Sharapova... Good, this is what I wanted. I'll be there tomorrow to watch them live. :)

Looking forward to seeing them in action...and how the latter match will "sound". :D

Williams got this in the bag. Only a really good Azarenka has an outside chance, but she's been subpar all tournament. At this point, I'm not even sure she'll beat Sharapova.

Then again, Sharapova might just lose to Azarenka to prevent another beatdown by Williams. :)

Radwanska covered 9100m... Serena just around 3600 ;) It's good to be that powerful :)

Serena goes up a double break with a beautiful drop shot. Just dominating.

There are very few players that can "beat" Serena Williams even when she loses. She usually beats herself when she loses. The last player to really beat her would be Sam Stosur at the U.S. Open in 2011. The match is on her racquet 99.9999% of the time.

She wins because of her serve, return of serve, her power, groundstrokes, overheads, and athleticism (she is so much faster than she is given credit for). She loses if any of those things go off, not because she is overmatched by her competitors.

As I watch her I am in awe of her game. When everything is clicking it is jaw dropping. All Radwanska can hope for is that the damage is not so bad.

Radwanska must be feeling horrible on court right now. I think a lot of players would have given up in her situation.

Put the tag on the toe and close the door! Serena is up a double break 4-1 in the second set.

So it ends 6-2 6-1. Ouch that's got to hurt.

Sharapova is really taking it to Azarenka. She's up a set and a break because her unforced error total is low (for her). Whether she will win, I don't know but she is impressing so far.

Sharapova would get punked by Serena in the final. At least Azarenka has the potential to make the final interesting.

If Sharapova plays like she did today she could make it interesting also. Don't think either of them are beating Serena though so the winner today did not matter lol.

What sets Serena apart from Azarenka (who I think can keep up with Serena from the baseline) and Sharapova and basically the rest of the WTA tour, is her serve. It's just not the aces but the high number of service winners or weak replies she will get from them.

Granted, Radwanska was a little beat down from her two previous marathon matches but Serena impressed me so much with her movement today, especially how quickly she reacted to drop shots. Sharapova played very well against Azarenka but if she is able to (or if Serena allows her to) play that well tomorrow, I will be so so so so shocked. Serena saves a little extra beat down juice for when she plays Maria.

Just give Serena the title. Maria hasn't given Serena a fight in ages. YEC, Wimbledon, USO, Olympics for "#3" Serena.

At least one thing is for sure....the Final will be very short. Maybe an hour 6-0,6-0 for Serena.

I considered making a separate thread, but I didn't think many people would comment so I'm not sure. If you think it's necessary, feel free to start one.

Been so busy lately and haven't seen any tennis. Glad to hear my girl Aneres is in beast mode. Hope she hits Maria off the court.

Out of respect for the sport, might as well make a separate thread. Given the WTA, anything can happen.

Since you are so confident you should bet on Serena then. Her odds aren't that high, only -350...meaning you have to risk $350 for every $100 you want to win.

Watched her live today, and this is so very true. There's just a different type of potency in Serena's serve, and she can actually be consistent at it.

She hasnt been in beast mode at all in this tournament, but still too good for the rest.

Pova is in good form so I'd like Serena to raise her level more tomorrow (though it may not matter anyway).
