Oklahoma has the strongest top 3 in the country I've just realized. And very solid #4. Unfortunately for them 5 and 6 aren't the strongest. Siegel is improved from Louisville a year ago but still not 100% reliable out there on court. Papac just got killed at #6 by Virginia Tech. I would expect Ghilea to assume that position as the season goes on or maybe a Siributwong rebirth.

Giron, Thompson, Macdonald ain't bad. Frank, Domijan, and Shane could easily take two of three from them.

Those are comparable. Also don't forget Puget when he comes back.

But I don't know if I completely trust Thompson yet. The emergence as a top player has come out of nowhere. Also I would rate Harris slightly higher than McDonald.

Domijan and Frank are the best top 2 in the nation but Shane is not at that level yet. UVA's top 3 was a lot better last year.

Is NC State being boisterous? In particular is Beck Bond screaming from the sidelines?

No generally pretty normal for a college match. State eins out with a 6-5 6-5 win on court 1.

Texas Tech takes the doubles point over Miss St. Both have young teams so an upset could be possible.

I haven't made it out yet but I'm going to try to make the National Indoors in Houston in a few weeks. Possibly might go to Champaign next Sunday for Illinois vs. Texas.

    4-2 Oklahoma State over Tennessee.

Duke-Illinois go to three tiebreakers in doubles, with Illinois winning #1 and Duke winning #2 and #3.

when redlicki won the first set 6-0, i thought maybe just maybe he'd come up with a big win...whoops 2-6 second set...still holding out hope for the third set though!

i miss having cunha who beat hiltzik 0,0 a few months ago in singles NCAA

and i miss having a healthy team - looks like hemmeler is keeping mengel company on the sidelines today

i have a feeling this could come down to the best singles matchup - tahir vs kopinski, both guys who have been around a bit in these kinds of situations

saba will probably pull it out as usual because he's the man

and someone else will win considering the way these second sets are turning around

Big WOW on that one. Libietis losing at 1 was a shock, he really has gone down this year. It looks like OK State's collection of unknown players is actually a pretty good one. The Big 12 has no doormat this year.

things suddenly looking very good with redlicki up a breka in 3rd, saba up a break in 2nd, bruno winning the 1st in tb, and all the other guys up at least a break in 2nd sets after dropping first

keep it rolling, can't give back the momentum

Jackets take down the Gamecocks 4-2 and a former Georgia Bulldog, Casey Kay, provided the clincher taking out Pinheiro at 4.

Yes it is. It's also good if the people that go to these matches give a little inside info and reports about what they saw. that way we as a college tennis fan collective can know more and more. We gotta help each other since nobody else does.

redlicki, i want to scream at you for blowing your 4-2 third set lead, but i'm too exhausted with you

also hoping you pull this match out and thereby shove my foot in my mouth, however

N.C. State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Duke represented the ACC pretty well. Mixed bag of results for the other major conferences so far (Texas Tech lost, Oklahoma State won for the Big 12; Mississippi State won, Tennessee and South Carolina lost for the SEC). Maybe the computer rankings won't be so ridiculously biased towards the SEC this year, if we can get the poll voters to pay attention to results before the polls end and the computer starts (using the poll numbers as the initial basis, which caused the high SEC rankings to persist all year in 2013).

The SEC probably isn't done taking it on the chin this weekend either. Still to come tomorrow and Sunday:

    Georgia at USC
    Florida at UCLA
    Northwestern at Vanderbilt
    Alabama at Texas
    Kentucky at Notre Dame
    Tennessee at Tulsa
    Georgia at UCLA
    Florida at USC

It's possible SEC teams could go 0-8 in these.

indeed, great debut for him, there's a proud dad on these boards somewhere

and great toughness at 3-6 to pull those matches out

    no further comment on redlicki
