If Fed believed he could win the slam with a more limited schedule he would have already done that. It would have allowed him to regain his number 1 ranking better than playing Rotterdam and Dubai did.

He couldn't freely skip tourneys without penalty before now.

I'm willing to bet $20 that he does it :) I know it's so unlikely, but as a Djokovic fan, what better fantasy to entertain at the beginning of the season? How big of a deal would it be if and when any male player does it again? I would just love to experience the hype and hoopla around witnessing the CYGS regardless of the player.

This same thread popped up last year and look at how many majors he won this year.... Only 1. Djokovic is way to inconsistent nowadays to replicate what he did in 2011 and even back then he came up short. Plus Federer and Murray showed this year that he is very beatable in a best of 5, so we can scratch Wimbledon off that list because he will never win that tournament again in his career. As for RG, Nadal will be fully recovered before the clay season begins so that's another tournament we can scratch off the list for 2013. So realistically at best he can end up with 2 majors this year.

Nole had more of an "off year" this year but he picked things up post USO. That could very well carry over into next year. He played so well in 2011, that it was only natural that could have affected his play this year.

Nole is the heavy favorite in Australia, and if Nadal isn't back at top level by clay season, he will be the heavy favorite there. Wimbledon and the USO are question marks but not out of the realm of possibility, Nole could win both.

Djokovic has a good shot with Fedal being out of picture and Murray being Andy.

However, winning 28 GS matches in a row, potentially beating Nadal in the RG final and Murray/Federer in the Wimbledon final, is difficult.

Chances are, Djokovic will falter. However, his chances have never been better, even in 2011.

He won't win Wimbledon again. Federer and Murray can beat him there. Maybe even Tomic in the future.
