She and Laura Robson are going to be on the UK Fed Cup team together.

    Come on, Heather!

If Ivanovic and Stosur both go out this early I will not be a happy camper!

She'd move better if she wasn't 5kgs overweight.

    Only 5kg?

I felt bad for Chan. It looked like the beautiful skinny Ivanovic was picking on the tour fatty.

Ana? She's skinnier than I've ever seen her at the beginning of a season. And the girl is 5'11".

    What are you looking at?

He's talking about Yung Chan. She carries a lot of excess weight for a tennis player, especially a female one.

    *sigh*

Y'all depress me sometimes with your lack of knowledge about how the camera distorts.
Have you ever seen these people up close? Roger is almost downright skinny.
Convex lenses -- which all television and film cameras have -- will make people appear bigger and wider than they are.

She'll have to at least maintain this level to challenge Maria.

    At least.

Masha has been slicing and dicing her way through the draw so far. She looks scary.

It makes one wonder why she shows up at the AO at all. At this point, even underwhelming Wozniacki would be a better bet to win the AO at some point than Stosur.

Working with advertising made me knew a lot of camera/lens things... but I'm pretty sure that her problem isn't the camera lenses...

If Venus can keep up excellent net play like that last point against Sharapova, it would be hard to see MS getting past her. I post that because we all know she has no answers for anyone truly playing the net/has touch, and if she tries to blast & paint corners, Venus is still remarkably fast, so that would not be a sound strategy.

    Still, anything is possible.

Big sister has always been more mature, but unfortunately not quite as gifted and/or devoted to the sport as Serena. I hope Venus gets far enough to whip that classless sister of hers [incredibly unlikely, I know].

went to sleep...see stosur crumbled again at home, so similar to mauresmo at the french..and yes, i know zheng is a good player but still expect more from major winner, but that win is looking increasingly like an anomaly

    completely disagree...

Venus at peak did things that you can't teach; the most athletically gifted player I've ever seen on a tennis court.

Masha's playing great, but I can't help but wonder if Venus has a few tricks up her sleeve to outsmart her.

Date-Krumm at 5-2 in the first against Shahar Peer, having trouble closing it out. It's like the fifth deuce.

I know this is a bit premature but what does everyone think of Krumm's chances vs Safarova? I would love to see her in the fourth round of a major. Lucie can be wild, but her lefty game could throw Date off.

When I first turned it on, I thought Vekic was Woz. Then they showed the other girl and I thought "Wait, that's Woz too. What?"

either Vekic is wearing waaaaaay too much blusher or she's going down to the heat (in the 90's?) ... her ears are also quite red ... not a good sign.

Caro looking comfy in comparison, now serving for the first set 5-1

lol ... i know what you mean ... as soon as I saw vekic i noticed that she has the string-bean, venus-williams body type. woz is more curvaceous.

plus woz is wearing her stella mccartney dress with the pleated yellow skirt. vekic is wearing the shorter, white bandage type skirt.

plus woz is the more natural blonde. vekic's hair color is more uniform and looks like she just got the color done :)

I've got Gilles streaming and apparently he said to the ballboy "it's 40 degrees! I want the towel after every point." Well, it's what the commentator claims Gilles said. I lol'd.

lolz ... gilles better be careful or the ballboy might use the towel first, before handing it to the sexy frenchman .... it's just too hot to play (or ballboy) tennis when the temperature is over 100 degrees F!!!!

Madison Keys is letting Kerber frustrate her far too much....she is going for outright winners on shots she has no business smacking like that! When she IS patient though she is capable of playing some really great points. Really hope she can turn this match around or at least make it more competitive!
