LOLOL it's Berdych playing against Federer and I wouldn't mind the linesman cheating Birdsh!t, Fed did got robbed off a point by the umpire at the start so I guess it makes it even.

It was out by a fair margin too. At least three people at fault. Linesperson for missing the call, umpire for not overruling, and Berdych for not stopping play to challenge.

Federers conversion rate on break, match points are often low.
That's how he is thru out his career.
Just like Nadal, he plays conservative on those points.

I'm more annoyed how Fed didn't convert those 3 BPs at 5-5 rather than him wasting 3 MPs.

What happened in an earlier post that said Byrdych had the set robbed from him?

Djokovic plays aggressive on break points.
That's how he broke thru Federer/Nadal reign.

With all due respect you can't compare Nadal and Federer on BPs/MPs. In the clutch department Fed falls behind.

Berd taking his chance. Fed has to go 3. High risk tennis will win this for Fed. Last set should be a shoot out. Whoever serves, hits big enough will win.

This is beginning to remind me of 2010. Federer losing to Berdych despite having MPs. What a nightmare year that was. No again. Please not again.

Fed was trailing 5-6 30-40 on his serve, shanked on FH and the ball was long, but linesman didn't call out, neither did the umpire overrule and Berdych didn't challenge. Eventually Fed won the point and Berdych was annoyed, but he couldn't challenge because it was too late. Replay with hawkeye showed that it was out by quite a large margin.

At least now Berdych still won the set no one would complain much afterwards I guess.

Fed's a better matchup. Djokovic doesn't give as many free points. Wears mentally on Berdych with his ridiculous returns. Much like what he did to JMDP earlier today.

But Nadal has advantage on ad-courts where majority of break points are.

They both play conservative on break points. Nadal's better off due to ad court advantages. Federer has been trying to fix it. But I think that's how he is: take quick aggressive lead in the match and play conservative on break points.

The only reason I want Federer to win is to avoid a 6-2 6-0 final win for Djokovic. Cause that's exactly what's going to happen if Berdych wins today.

Berd had already won that set there, so it is only fair he got it in the TB.
Now I think Berd has this. Irrespective of who wins here though, Novak will beat them tomorrow.

Attitude and swagger are connected to the game, other top guys have insane defense while Fed really declined in that department, Berdman can bully Fed from the baseline relatively easily (he gets either a forced error or a short ball) but all those shots are coming back with interest against other guys (which was the case for Fed as well, he was 8-1 or 9-1 against Berdman before 2010).

Sure, but how does that justify his attitude. His level of arrogance (backed up by 0 majors of course, so talk to the hand) goes from 0 against the others to a full 100 against Federer. I still can't forget his jeering at the 2009 AO and 2010 Wim. Disgusting. I wouldn't mind it if he showed attitude against everybody, a little like Novak did at one point of time. But Birdman, I can't take.

Exactly what I was thinking. Fed-Djoker will be so much more enjoyable even if Djoker is still the favorite.

I agree, it's fair Berdman ended up winning the set.

I'm getting a little tired of umpires hiding behind challenge system, Fed was right in that regard IMO.

Well don't be annoyed Mandy ! Fed is annoyed enough, Berdy knows this & really gets under Roger's skin. RF is just trying to keep a lid on it. This is building though...if 1 player gets a chance he has to take it. Berdy just took his first chance.

Whatever. I'll be impressed if he keeps this up against others rather than folding as per usual against them.
