The force is with Del Potro on hard court, but I think Nadal improved
his hard court game during the lay-off.

Let see if Nadal's efforts on hard court game pay off...

He beat Federer in the last 2 outings. He should've beaten Federer at the Olympics and at Roland Garros too.

Yeah, the Del Potro Federer rivalry is much closer than the overall H2H would indicate. Their matches are such nailbiters.

Maybe ATP website thinks New York exhibition counted as Indian Wells final? Lol

I think that the long Indian Wells tournament that Indian Wells was really helped Nadal playing against higher level folks than in his previous "Gold Coast" matches.

Would love to see Delpo win but I don't think he has the wheels to win in 3. I say Nadal in 3.

Del Pothead will run out of gas today.

    Nadal will destroy him.

So what do you think about Nadal being in the final? You assured us all that Nadal wouldn't get anywhere near the title, Djokovic would win for sure since he's unbeatable etc. I really hope you get this Delpo in 2 prediction right though

If Delpo has gas in the tank, Nadal in 3. If Delpo has no gas, nadal in 2 (one tight set, probably the first which Delpo blows and it's over after that)

If Delpo shows up in his top form then him in 3, but I doubt that will happen.

I just figured out that Delpo hasn't won a Masters 1000... But he has won a slam....

Why do all the fed fans want Rafa to lose, it's not like Rafa winning this Masters is going to affect Fed's records.

Oh wait... it will, Rafa will have 22 > Fed's 21.

Maybe because they like Delpo better than Nadal? Maybe their dislike of Nadal has more to do with his style and how he behaves on court rather than the h2h that so many Nadal fans cant blow up enough?

He's playing some of his best HC tennis ever, he's being more agressive which I actually quite like. He's better to watch. Making more errors but dictating play and hitting winners. This is better than his usual level on HC.

Walk-overs are not necessarily good. Case in point, Novak at FO 2011, Fed at US Open 2012.

I agree, but in this case I think it would have helped Juan considering the matches he has played.

I think the issue is Delpo's fitness - big guys usually have issues. I can see him winning in 2 but unlikely in 3. You never know though!

only reason he's being more aggressive is because his movement is still compromised!

If Delpo wins I will be over the moon and hopefully he can rise up and have a nice rivallry with Djokovic, and we can have a bit less Fedal.

If Nadal wins, on the good side we can end any excuses about him needing time to be 100% - we pretty much can anyway, but winning a HC masters for the first time in 4 years? That would be game on.

Del Potro went full speed down the line, probably even hit the line and Nadal got there with ease.

    This surface is a joke.

So? You make up for any weaknesses in your game. I believe Rafa can move fine he just doesn't want to hurt his knees. If he had had the sense to do this earlier he would have been much better off. I mean it's a HC, being agressive is not a bad idea! Novak has gone the other way now he's grinding on HC as well.

The amount of times Delpo can use the CC FH will be key. Let's see if Nadal's BH can put up with the hammering from Delpo's FH.
