to my eyes, uva is in a dominant position right now, not much momentum going OSU's way besides court #1, and even that one will no doubt be hard fought knowing jenkins

Kobelt looking good too, but it'll be hard for him to break Domijan. They need Smith to close the door.

frank can make anyone hate tennis and start tanking, so wouldn't judge it by this match but haven't looked at his whole body of work

Kobelt and Domijan looks like the crucial match. 4-4 in the third and very few break points on either side. If Domijan wins, OSU's only real hope is winning at both 4 & 5.

big tb on 5 - if rola and that tb go OSU's way that could be a nice momentum shift

Ryan Shane just got super hooked. Hit a clean cross-court backhand winner and ump didn't overrule

tough call - no way to say from these videos on the far side - but rshane mighty close to taking the match with a backhand "winner?" at 6-5 in tb

ha, if you can tell a close call like that far side on these video feeds, you're a super hero

i'll say 60% chance it was in - anyway he wins by playing the more aggressive tb - nice work

My video froze just as he started that second serve, how did Domijan win it?

Kobelt was forced to hit a low volley that he pulled wide on the left side. he tried to argue that it was in but it was wide.

Shallow return, Kobelt comes in, Domijan hits at him, Kobelt cuts the backhand volley cross-court and just wide. Kobelt challenges the out call but the umpire upholds it.

USC/UVA once again. I kinda wanted to see a UCLA vs Virginia matchup.

Serving at 5-6, 40-0, but Domijan played some great points. Kobelt even got some big first serves in during that game that did not produce any more than a 50-50 point.

    Singles Lineups:

    1. Jenkins vs. Sarmiento
    2. Domijan vs. Gomez
    3. Frank vs. Quiroz
    4. Styslinger vs. Hanfmann
    5. R. Shane vs. De Vroome
    6. J. Shane vs. Johnson

Not sure where I see 3 to 4 singles wins from USC. I'd say they have to take the doubles point to even think about winning. Styslinger hasn't played too well all week so Hanfmann has a shot there at 4. Both 5 and 6 should be tight matches but I can't see Frank or Domijan losing at 2 or 3. I'd say Jenkins/Sarmiento is probably 65/35 to JJ. What's everyone else think?

Duke needs Saba to win the second set tiebreaker to save needless drama against Pepperdine. Could get dicey otherwise.

don't think USC's chances without the dubs point are any better than Duke's or OSU's from the past two matches, really

even if they win dubs, UVA might pull out a tight 4-3 like today

if they don't, they might put a couple points on the board, maybe, but won't win

yup, i think redlicki will have a good chance, we may need him

wouldn't be surprised if saba is gassed from his effort last night as well

and cunha hasn't exactly been contributing so far the past two days - maybe he'll be a sport and do something here?

I hope Axel Alvarez isn't hurt badly and will be able to play vs Cal tonight.

Cunha goes from 3-2 to 3-4 in the third set against Fanselow. Bad trend.

EDIT: And now to 5-4. Good trend.

    there we go redlicki! boom!

ranking should be in good shape this year with not too much potential for losing left out there (just cal and unc really, aside from uva x 2)

that was his first loss and in 3 sets to a top 15 player. He killed #39 Hess-Olesen of Texas earlier.

I can see UVA taking #3 doubles and #1 going to USC. If Justin and Julen don't get their stuff together, I see USC taking #2 doubles.

    1) UVA - J has not played his best, but he was also playing Rola tonight.
    2) UVA - Unless Gomez is on fire, Domo should win.
    3) UVA - Frank just makes opponents hate themselves by the 2nd set.
    4) USC - Hanfmann will probably feel confident after his play so far.
    5) UVA - Ryan hasn't had any huge mental letdowns yet; been playing great.
    6) UVA - Justin is just too consistent from the baseline.

If UVA wins the doubles point, watch for a bagel. If they don't, I still see UVA taking it 4-2.

Considering Sarkissian has been playing pro tournaments for the past few years he should be crushing these college players. Guess he never really improved. On a side note, Pepperdine really needs to reevaluate their number 2 doubles. Playing 2 back on their own serves haha that's just embarassing

he's had no more success on the pro circuit than redlicki
    current rankings 950 vs 953
    career highs 894 vs 934

and redlicki has wins including over greg oullette who was around 300 at the time

there was no heavy favorite in this match for people who know what they're talking about, sarkissian has losses to lots of college players and recent grads on his itf record

he's playing the #3 spot at a top ten D1 school ,how is that disappointing.? move him down a few spots and he'll win most or all of his matches ... the only thing I question about him is how many years of eligibility he has left?

he was from the same graduating class as S.Johnson and Thacher ,so this should be his senior/final year ,if the rule 5 to play 4 applies

doubles is a toss up .. both teams are so up and down who ever gets the most lucky netcords will win... lol...

    1. Jenkins vs. Sarmiento.......... I'm going out on a limb here and going with R.S.
    2. Domijan vs. Gomez .......... Gomez wins because he has better returns and once he gets the ball in play,he's superior in rallies
    3. Frank vs. Quiroz .......... Frank is mentally tougher
    4. Styslinger vs. Hanfmann ..........Hanfmann is too hot right now.. playing some big time tennis..
    5. R. Shane vs. De Vroome .......... can go either way
    6. J. Shane vs. Johnson ..........E.J. knows how to win...

    I'll say USC 4-2 ...

You're really going with Sarmiento after he's been shaky all week? Domijan has proven to dominate indoors, i.e. winning indoors. If it were outdoors, I'd give the edge to Gomez. Eric Johnson was down 3 match points to Karue Sell.... average 6 player. I'd have to give the edge to Shane. He's way better than Sell

I'd give the edge outdoors to Domijan, mainly because when they played outdoors at the All-American, Domijan won.
