Better look again. The path to Baylor winning this match is there now.
Lenz needs to finish in straights...you got to figure Domijan will come back in his match and Frank will probably push that one to a 3rd at 3.
My video keeps freezing on 1 and 2.......court 3 is the only one for me that keeps working.
Baylor loses four three set matches to lose 1-5.
Check that. They played the singles out. Baylor wins 1 singles match in straight sets and loses 5 3 setters. They got to be bummed. UVA won the doubles so the final score was UVA 6,Baylor 1.
Nice win by UVA.
Big comeback there by Virginia - they were down on the mat and picked themselves up.
Pradella led Domijan 3-1 in the 3rd
Lenz led Jenkins 7-6 4-2
Zsiga led Frank 6-4 4-5
Krickovic led Styslinger 5-3 in the 3rd
Despite that they won them all.
Virginia looks so good. I thought they might go down today. I'll really be surprised if they don't win the ncaa in May. Is an unbeaten season possible?
i'd say probable
well it played out 6-1 for Virginia but some tight 3 setters.
Tough few days for Baylor.
They seem to be a pretty even team but will need to consolidate & win a few now after that other 6-1 loss to UCLA.
Virginia proved that under pressure, not playing well, they find a way to win.
You always need that in a championship season.
^^^^Funny. When I typed that Baylor was ahead on a number of courts. UVA proved too good.
Cardinal playing unexpectedly well even with Star player Matt Kandath out of the lineup. Playing for each other as a team could take this team far into the NCAA championships.
With Coach Whitlinger leading the team, they may surprise everyone and make the NCAA final. Why not ? This wouldn't be the first time, team composed of several freshmen made it far and won the NCAA team championships.
Where do you come up with this stuff? They barely squeaked buy against unranked Boise State at home no less. They are going to be lucky to even make it into the NCAA tournament this year.
There are better odds of Agassi getting a wildcard into the US Open and winning it than this happening.
Well, Agassi did get into US open as unseeded player and WON it ALL. IN march madness, Cinderella makes it into the Semifinals all the time.
It's weird how Fedace was such a huge stanford fan as well, yet you constantly deny being the same poster.
Anyway, when is college tennis broadcasted? FOX sports/ESPN U..anything? I really love watching college matches.
Yea, Stanford's currently ranked 49. Last year, the last at-large to get into the tournament appears to have been Virginia Tech at 45. So right now, unless Stanford can get a big win over a higher ranked opponent, there's a good chance they would not make the field of 64.
Even if they did, they're going to be playing a higher ranked team in the first round on the road. Win that match, and they'll get a Top 16 team on their home court, so USC, UCLA or Pepperdine. Gotta win that match just to get to Urbana and the round of 16. I don't see it happening.
Only teams that might pose a problem in rest of the schedule is USC and UCLA, rest of the teams, Stanford should beat. This gets us into the NCAA tournament. Might Upset UCLA with TV coverage. Stanford raises their level when TV coverage with media spotlight is on. Anyway, Cardinal may face higher ranked team in 2nd round or so, maybe pepperdine. they should handle those guys and get to round of 16.

So, Stanford will beat Washington on the road and Cal at home, no problem?
YES YES, No problem there. Washington is weak mentally and choke. They haven't gone anywhere in years. and we own Cal at home.
Several decent matches today and on Wednesday we have Virginia/Texas A&M and on Thursday there is Baylor/Ole Miss and Tulsa/UCLA.
#22 Wake Forest at #28 VCU – 2:30pm est – No Livestats
#8 Ohio State vs. #12 Pepperdine – 4pm est/1pm pst – Livestats
#26 Florida State at #5 Oklahoma – 6:30pm est/5:30pm cst
#44 North Carolina at #21 Texas – 7pm est/6pm cst – Livestats & TV coverage from the Longhorn Network
Stanford's days are over.
meanwhile Georgia is looking like the best team in the nation right now. Even without the best freshman in the country Wood, the Dawgs are beating SEC teams easy.
did anyone see Baylor make Virginia sweat? What a joke for the Cavies.
what would happen if Georgia dogs meet Stanford in round of 16 ?
guess you missed they lost to Ole Miss on Friday? 4-3 loss is not beating team easily
You think that a team that barely squeaks past an unranked team is going to take it to Cal and Wash?
I give you credit, you add a lot of humor to the forum.
Wood is a great player but I don't think he is better than Styslinger, R. Shane, Redlicki, Richmond or Hiltzik at this point of his game.
Georgia would crush them 4-0 in about an hour in a half, if I was to guess.
Feddy sees the future, he is kind of like, well....Nostra. Oh right.
Right now the SEC is the deepest conference in college tennis. Every match is a real struggle to come away with a win. A lot of 4-3 scores, even for the best teams. Very few weak players on any lineup. This conference has been a beast for as long as i can remember.
Yeah, that was impressive. Well, as impressive as 6-1 loss can be.
UVA won 2 doubles 8-5 and 9-7, and the other match was tied 5-5.
Baylor wins at No. 4, relatively easily.
UVA wins remaining 5 singles, ALL in 3 sets. So, Baylor must be a pretty decent team. UVA playing outdoors for the first time, but I'm sure they had practiced outdoors beforehand.
Pepperdine won #1 doubles 8-3, Ohio State up 7-2 at #2, and Pepperdine leads 5-3 at #3.
Ohio State takes the doubles point winning 9-7 at #3
No Peter Kobelt in the lineup for Ohio State - McCarthy playing up at 2
Ille is back!
We're gonna get a Hess-Olesen brothers battle at #1.
Why on earth is the #7 team in the country not providing live stats?
Drives me insane
I wonder if we will see a racket fling to the adjacent county in this brother battle a la Tripper Carleton after losing to Reid.
In Nashville tonight. Too bad Vandy is not at home. Have to listen to country music instead!
Pretty cool interview here with UVA's Jarmere Jenkins...stand up guy who will be on tour come Summer.
There is definitely plenty of country music down on Broadway.
Oklahoma/FSU Livestats link. FSU took dubs and 1st sets at 5 and 6
VCU beat Wake Forest 4-2 - I thought that was one Wake would win. Final Stats
Bad loss for Kreyman at 3. Goransson has been getting killed at 3, their lamb player.
Where did Lloyd Glasspool come from? He was about a .500 player last year and he's about to run his record to 11-2 this year with a rout of Nelson Vick.
I believe Reed is serving for the match at 5 - would put FSU up 3-2. Going to a 3rd set at 2 and 3.
Serious chance here for FSU to knock off the Sooners on the road. Lock rallied from a break down to take the 2nd set over Alcorta. Reed up 5-4 in the 3rd and court 3 knotted at 2 in the 3rd.
OU may pull this out at 2 and 3 but Stakhovsky and Siributwong have both struggled this year. There are several top 15 teams that have weak 5 and 6 singles players. Ole Miss (Backstrom/Skogeng), Tennessee (Jones/Collins), Oklahoma (Stakhovsky/Siributwong), and Pepperdine (Moush/Sofaer) are all getting lit up just about every match. Georgia was in that category until we got KU back.
It's amazing that those 4 are ranked 4, 6, 7, and 12 in the country by starting out just about every match in a 2-0 hole.
Guys will rest up for next few weeks during spring break. but then afterwards, Back to work and time to Make the Run toward the NCAA championships. There is always a chance. Cinderella have been known to come up with a surprise or two.
Florida State 4 Oklahoma 3 - FINAL
I don't know what happened to Siributwong. He has regressed. The thought was that he would become a 1-3 player for the Sooners by this time.
When was the last time the participants in the final weren't both single digit seeds?
Wasn't Illinois No. 10 or something like that back in 2007? Didn't check though.
What was VCU when they made the final?
Separate names with a comma.
