Thanks TopDawg. The UofM SD is a big match for both teams. Dubs the Tigers are up on ct2 down on ct3 even on 1. SD has the home court advantage, I still like the Tigers, homer prediction UofM 4-3

If these are the lineups then I like Georgia in 3 singles matches and Kentucky in 3 with the doubles winner deciding it. I think the Minc/Smith match is probably a tossup but with it being indoors that'd probably give a slight edge to Minc. We've not played as well lately at #2 dubs so if we drop that one we probably losing the point. If the weather was going to be better and the match played outdoors I'd probably come up for it but since it's indoors it could go on for 4 or 5 hours and I don't think I can get a hall pass for the whole day on a Sunday.

    Singh over Rossi (65%)
    Jomby over Pasha (70%)
    Wagland over Gomez (90%)
    Minc over Smith (55%)
    Pieters over Roberts (80%)
    Lai over Brasseaux (95%)

Really is a big win. Lots of fight back against San Diego away. Tied 1-1 in doubles and down 4-6. #3 came back to win the doubles point for the Tigers. Down 3-2 they win the match 4-3 winning at #4 in a close two setter and #6 clinches 6-4 in the 3rd.

Memphis gets to play #20 Drake next in a neutral venue. Pick Memphis.

TRN lists Austin Smith (Georgia freshman) as being from Keystone High School and hometown of Cumming, Georgia. The NJCAA letter of intent lists an Austin Smith from Bleckley County High School in Cochran, Georgia.

I see online that Bleckley County is a good distance south of Atlanta, while Cumming is in Forsyth County, north of Atlanta. Seems like the names are just a coincidence.

Yeah that's just a coincidence. There is an Austin Smith that plays for Ball State too.

Funny. Smith is common, but 3 Austin Smith's playing college tennis and 2 from GA is pretty random.

Was Stan Smith's daughter called Austin? She played college also at I think UNC. A quick online search couldnt find anything though.

Duke's gonna bring it today - if they win dubs expect UVA to be locked in a 4-3 dogfight

    Gotta believe!

Interesting finish at 3. Vandy assistant coach and former Georgia player Jamie Hunt gave Georgia a point with Vandy up 6-4 in the TB. Vandy players called it out, the chair said it was a foot long, everybody was walking to the net to shake hands and then Hunt stepped in and said he saw it good. The chair accepted Hunt's call and that made 6-5 Vandy instead of the match at 7-4. Vandy did win on the next point. Video tonight

Can't wait to see that on video - if I were head coach of vandy he would have been fired before the next point was played

That is interesting an official changing a call due to a coach coming up afterwards?
    TopDawg was the ball out?
Just odd for an official to change call like that.

Meanwhile duke fighting hard at 1-2 and 5-6, redlicki and Mengel should retire and stop pretending to be competing today

It was an overhead that was moving quick on the far end away from the stands. Georgia players thought it was in and Vandy guys might never have saw it. I couldn't tell myself

julen wins it 6-4 in 2nd after saving two break points

    4-3 UVA

looks like just one more chance for cunha's group of blue devils to get over the hump vs UVA (assuming an ACC tourney final matchup, who knows, maybe NCAAs also)

god it gets tiring seeing Duke never ever win one of these critical dubs pts and losing 4-3 to UVA yet again

congrats UVA folks, you guys always hang tougher on the big points, always

That's a match you would expect Tahir to win at 6 especially since Uriguen has not been playing recently.

Terrible move by the coach. A coach should never overrule his own player because the players loses trust in that coach.

Yet another week where the highest ranked SEC team lends a hand to another league team - 4-1 tenn over UK

Wouldn't be surprised if the ITA rankings claim there are eight or nine top-5 teams from the SEC by the end of the year - didn't mistype :)

My Hoosiers go 1-0 in the Big 10 with a win over Penn state on the road which may not sound like much but its a turnaround. An ohio state university will destroy us Sunday.

Here is the video. Georgia's Austin Smith serving 4-6 in the tiebreak - match point for Vandy. It is a little tough to see but the chair had his hands up to show the distance he thought it was out.

LSU won't make the tournament. The new rule that a team must be above .500 will hurt them. They are 7-7 right now and still have matches vs Tennessee,Georgia and Florida still.

people can criticize Hunt but that is actually very good sportsmanship on his part, think that is a good reflection of the Vandy team and coaches.

The new rule is why those matches were created. Scheduling Nicholls state twice within two weeks? haha

well they probably will make it actually now.

Agreed. In high level D1 matches I suspect that there is almost always an umpire on every court. And whenever there is an umpire on the court, the onus of overuling a call is left to the umpire. In other words, a coach won't speak up if he knows his player made a bad call and the umpire missed it.

That said, and no offense to any USTA officials, but many of them are blind as bats, or often too unwilling or intimidated to overule. So, I'd like to think that tennis is closer in the spectrum to golf as opposed to most other sports in terms of honor and integrity. It took a lot of guts for Hunt to make that call, and I applaud him for it.

Funny how there are many here who ***** about how bad cheating and integrity is in tennis and worse in college, blah, blah, blah. Then a coach has a display of uncommon sportsmanship and he is blasted for it. Shameful.
