The Tamu player looks a little stiff too. I think she's fading a bit compared to the UCLA player
Cramping is not a injury, this is illegal.
learn the rules before you spout your non-sense. It is allowed but she has used her one MTO so can only be treated on changeovers
Dawg what is the Tamu player saying to the chair ump. Those calls don't look bad at all.
Bruins break after 4 million moonballs
Not sure I was over by the other courts, aTm girl fading fast though
Looking good for UCLA. ugh.
I can't tell if it's just the video, but the TAMU girl definitely looks less fit. She looks like she wants to play the ground and pound game but the UCLA player is not giving her anything to drive.
I know I would hate that type of player!
So tough to see on a stream but the UCLA girl fell down just before the TAMU girl went to the ump. I wondered if she screamed a distraction as I was watching.
Why oh why did the UCLA player change her strategy?!. She tried to exchange ground strokes on 2 game points and lost them both
Girl from aTm is fighting hard
wow UCLA had 40-15 to got 5-2 up and now down a BP
Wow I thought she was gone and she breaks back, great stuff
Stanford up a break now
Hardebeck with a break now for Stanford.
So many momentum changes. Amazing. The coaches gotta be developing ulcers by now.
I really wish I was there, streams good but not enough
Wind picking up some after being calm for a while
That could be why she changed her moonball strat...weird though to do it at gamepoint
UCLA girl pulled up lame and is hurting by the fence
Time violation penalty by UCLA and aTM is now serving for it
delay penalty to boot, what a change of events
This one is over, UCLA girl can barely move
Florida goes Dooooowwwnnnnnn! Defending champs no more!
Nguyen rolled her ankle and received a point penalty for time violation. TAMU serving for the match now 5-4 in the third.
What an ending
What a shame. Fought off a couple match points in the second set tiebreaker and up 40 love serving for 5-2 in the third but unable to convert. Hell of a match from both girls though, huge hearts.
Amazing nights tennis, great effort from al 4 schools
OK, in both dual matches, the TEAM with better conditioning has won the match. Cercone cramping like crazy even in the beginning of the 3rd set. Stanford conditioning coach deserves some Kudos for this one. They have really improved this aspect of their program.
#13 Nicole Gibbs (STAN) def. #1 Lauren Embree (FLA) 6-0, 6-1
Not in the other semi. UCLA's girl was fine fitness-wise up until she rolled her ankle late in the third. Any player can suffer an unfortunate injury in a match irregardless of how well-conditioned he/she is.
I don't think Cercone was cramping. I think she was mentally gone after blowin the big 2nd set lead to lose it in a tb.
Texas A&M taking it to Stanford in singles.
So if Gibbs beats Embree 6-0, 6-1 and Sanchez beats Gibbs 6-0, 6-0, what would the score between Sanchez and Embree look like? Golden set maybe? Unbelievable beat-down on Gibbs going on right now.
Stanford getting back in it. Ain't over yet!
Gibbs now up 3-0 in the 3rd
Stanford now 3-0 on the old scoreboard but the 4th may take a bit longer to come
Aggies look cooked.
yeah, they're up 3-0 after No. 1 comes back from losing the first set 0-6 and wins the third 6-0. Yet, TAMU still has a legit chance to win 4-3. I don't think they will, but they have a legit chance.
Aggies take # 5, 3-1 now
Aggie's still have a chance. Never jump to conclusions in college tennis!
Stanford break back to force a TB on 3, that would have been a big momentum boost for a and m right there
Aggies win on 3, up 5-0 in the 3rd on 6 so all comes down to # 2 where Stanford is up 3-2 with a break in the third (if a break matters much).
Come on Aggies! Get the break back.
5-2 on court 2, Stanford serving for it all
Why was Stanford the 12 seed? Well, I know why -- the ITA computer formula had them at 12. But, what made them lose the matches that led to the No. 12 ranking? Were there injuries during the season or something? Or, did they simply not "gel" until late in the season?
They lost to Saint Mary's at one point.
Something you never read in this site: Feddie called it!
What do they say about blind squirrels and a nut?
