Still hate that the SB will be in NYC this year. Weather will be way worse than last nights game and last nights game wasn't great quality football. It was great quality entertainment with Brady vs manning a, huge comeback etc. but horrible drops, bad turnovers, tough passing conditions due to the weather.

KC loses again, will continue to lose after tough defensive player injuries. Though if they beat denver next week people will be all aboard again. Another Indy loss, run game is a joke. Arizona looks good with a rejuvenated Carson and that D. Bucs going to 8-8 will win SB. GB done with the improbable tie. Baltimore still sucks, I just don't like Baltimore.

I'm worried about the 49ers. Cardinals are playing real well at the moment. We can't afford to slip up much more.

When was the last time both Super Bowl finalists failed to make the playoffs the next year? 2000? Or the year the Bucs won the Super Bowl?

49ers gave the Redskins a piece of humble pie. When Crabtree returns our offense should be more fluid.

They probably could of put up 40+ had they run less. Washington put 8 in the box every play, they should of just picked apart the 1v1 on the outside.

Was sad to hear of his passing as well. I was also surprised to read about how religious he was, since he wore his hair long at one time.

    LOL @ St. Louis Rams.

They clearly read the NFL rulebook and said "F the rules".

That Eagles game was unbelievably stupid. 3 bad calls in a row to end the game. Cards couldn't do anything with the refs calling holds on blocks every 5 seconds.

NFL action this weekend took a serious backseat after those two classic college nailbiters on Saturday. Wish an NFL coach could man up like Brady Hoke and go for the glory when the opportunity arises. And whomever said lightning doesn't strike twice need only watch Auburn football and then shut up.

Hopefully, Saints/Seahawks tomorrow night returns some of the excitement to the pro game. Weather may have a say or not.

LOL @ Drew Brees' visit to the big river in Egypt concerning the Saints' road woes. Granted when you add in their SB-winning stats that they were strong but they whiffed vs. my lowly Jets last month and the MNF debacle only more confirmed they are toothless outside the Superdome.

On the flip side, Russell Wilson does more with less talent surrounding him simply bcoz he is the most prepared QB in the league. Keep on keepin' on, #3!

Wilson is a legit top 5 QB in the league. Manning, Brady, brees, rodgers then I'd go wilson. Have been saying for a while Seattle is the best team in the league and have a serious shot to win the SB. Plus the best home field in the league helps. Playing in a cool environment in Seattle will be good prep for playing in New York in February.

I'm not a huge football fan, but I'm not averse to watching an occasional marquee matchup now and again.

I did a bit of digging, however, and discovered that the nfl is rigged, just like the nba.

    1. Contrary to popular belief and to what he NFL wants you to think, there have been fixed games in league history. On page 308 of Dan Moldea's book "Interference" he lists over 70 NFL games that have been fixed and includes the names of the 2 referees involved in fixing those games. He also lists interviews with NFL HOF players most notably KC Chiefs QB Len Dawson. He, in detail with documented facts supported by FBI documents, has interviews with NFL players and known gambling associates to uncover massive game fixing in the league. He also notes, with evidence, throughout the book that no fewer than 26 NFL team owners have or have had continuous and developing relationships with the gambling world, most notably the Rooney, Bidwill, and Mara families all getting their starts as Bookmakers for established mid-west crime families and buying their NFL franchises with moneys earned from gambling. So that in and of itself is a hypocrisy number 1 on the NFL's "lilly white" reputation.

49ers are in for a war this weekend. The running game better work or else Kap will be spend a lot of time on his back.

What better added twist to Survival Sunday can we ask for than snow at just about every outdoor matchup! I'm tempted to watch all day instead of resting up for work until the mid-80's heat here in Orlando drops a bit near sunset!

Lions' Jeremy Ross loves the snow...a punt return TD and now a Kickoff return for a second TD! Philly has now tied it up with a second rushing TD by McCoy. Their 2-point conversion gives them a lead for the first time today.

I might have to go out in the mulch and do a couple of snow angels!

No kidding! Also pats comeback was pretty sweet also. Even though I don't like the pats and they should of lost. Hope Gronk recovers well. Indy continues to disappoint their fans. Too bad phi vs det was the worst weather game seeing as it was the most important game of the 1pm games. Washington and nyg are terrible.

Chicago/Dallas - Watching the pregame show and a lot of the stadium staffs in the background are rocking full on ski-outfits. Ski masks and goggles and everything, lol.

I guess it's pretty cold over there. :)

Really a wide open title chase this year. While the "experts" would have you think Seattle and Denver are locks for the Super Bowl, Denver's historical hiccups in the playoffs and Seattle's lack of experience could make this a very interesting playoff year.

I want Peyton to win it all, but feel like SF and New England are kind of lurking, keeping everyone's expectations reasonably low until...boom - they show when it counts what they can do.

Not a good year to be a Kiffin...first the son gets canned by USC and now the dad oversees the worst defense I can remember. McCown lit Monte's "D" up tonight and looked like a HOFer (Elway helicopter move) instead of a career backup.

Always a 49ers fan but been supporting the Seahawks since 2005 and I have always been disappointed eversince so much so that I am relegated to rooting for Tom Brady's Patriots. No love for the Jets ever nor Giants (and I get lambasted, even castigated for not supporting NY's teams). This year maybe the Chiefs could pull a stunner?:)

Of course it isn't, it's a capital crime! I'm not really a good representative...that's why I get castigated by my buddies for not sticking out my neck with the Giants come what may--never mind, Seahawks should be the odds-on favourite now!:)

Remember the thread title...the SB will be played outdoors in NYC in February. That makes Seattle a logical candidate to succeed with their emphasis on defense and a balanced offensive approach. Denver is not far behind though.

Nope, J E T S fan from my first cigarette to my last dying day. Not going to the SB since '69 is pretty frustrating but Namath's brash guarantee and follow-up is still one of the biggest moments in NFL history.

The Jets are the weakling in my triumverate of Yankees/Islanders/Jets teams to support...Yankees since the days of Mantle, Jets since Namath and the Isles since the 4-peat of the early 80's. Being in the crowd when Nystrom scored the OT Cup-winning goal was my all-time thrill!

Sir, I wasn't born yet in Namath's and Unitas' days and only heard of their legend but it doesn't diminish my respect and awe for them. But at least I saw Eli win (twice, no less against the Patriots).

You mentioned Namath & Unitas in the same sentence and that harkens back to the mid-January day in '69 that cemented the AFL/NFL merger with the biggest upset in SB history. Unitas was only insertted in the second half after his sub, Earl Morrall, was totally ineffective despite having led the Colts all year after Johnny U's injury. It seems that their ex-coach, Weeb Ewbank, had an answer for their offensive prowess and passed it along to his Jets defensive squad. As the final score indicates, 16-7, Joe Willie backed off the typical AFL gameplan of pass-happiness and play keepaway ball control to pull off the miracle.

I find it ironic that after that season, the Colts were one of the teams shifted from the NFL over into the newly-formed AFC conference and really got pass-happy very soon thereafter with Bert Jones leading a prolific offense geared around a heavy dose of the pass.

Who's getting the 1st round pick? The hunt is on.

    Jacksonville
    Tampa Bay
    Houston
    Atlanta
    Washington
    Oakland

All of the above plus any team who hasn't or doesn't trade their first round pick. The overall #1 pick probably goes to Houston but they haven't clinched it yet. Besides, is there any clear-cut #1 prospect? Manziel would be a natural for the Texans but they need to plug a few other holes before drafting a QB that early.

I haven't paid much attention to draft prospects. Manziel to Houston would be quite intriguing. Manziel needs to go pro as he's already 21 and won't learn anything new in TAMU's offense.

Atlanta needs help on defense as well as a replacement for Tony Gonzalez.

Not sure if the Redskins don't find backup for RG3 or improve their defense first. Take away his mobility and RG3 is just a woeful passer. Could just start from scratch and kick the Shanahans and RG3 to the curb.

Jacksonville... what DON'T they need an upgrade at? Oakland... that team's culture is toxic.

Tampa needs a reliable QB, Cleveland needs a RB.

There's a new city in Texas...it's "Allas" as there's no "D" anymore in North Central Texas. Romo can't win by himself if Kiffin's crew keeps whiffing. In the second half they made Rodgers' collarbone status irrelevant while making Flynn seem Favre-ish.

Re: draft picks...Manziel will get a lot of splash but the best QB (if he comes out) might be UCF's Blake Bortles. This kid has all the tools and will only get better as he has played QB just three years. Recruited as a TE, he made the switch once on campus and has learned the pro game from George O'Leary and surged past their previous QB, Godfrey, who now plays at WR.

Long range, Tampa is gonna be fine with Glennon at QB and he's a steal at R3, as opposed to Washington being locked to RG3 and the millions paid him. Glennon will have a lot of weapons around him when everybody's healthy...a Martin/Rainey tandem at RB with Jackson and Williams at WR is scary good. They can concentrate on defense in the draft. If Atlanta rebounds with Tampa then the NFC South will be one incredible division in '14!

Justin Tucker 18 defeats Detroit Lions 16!

Game winner was his sixth of the game and 33rd in a row, kicking from his own 49-yard-line, a 61-yarder!

Slight depression after Dallas loss. Only Dallas can lose a game like that. Everyone blaming romo per uge. Not his fault. When the D gives that up to matt Flynn it's tough to win. AFTER THE EAGLES LOSS!! It was all set up so nicely!! Cmon man !!! For first place in the div! Matt Flynn!! The bills said no to Flynn!! The bills!! Way to go Dallas, way to go. Way to score on td all second half... Way to go romo... On scoring... Your wife! Dude, sweet!

Amazing factoid...a team that was 42 days between wins and on their 4th QB now controls their own destiny! If GB wins out, they are playoff-bound as winners of the NFC North.

Saw a snippet of Sunday Conversation to be aired tomorrow featuring Russell Wilson...amazing guy! The best part of it was his revelation he deals with a sports psychologist on a regular weekly basis and their proclaimed goal is to maximize his potential through the power of positive attitude. Making the most of each day, in the face of adversities and challenges, really is a key to success in any walk of life.

This is a guy with his head screwed on correctly!

Seattle Seahawk, haha I swear, they're the kings at those pin-ball interceptions.

It's like every game, the football would bounce off of their opponent and magically fall into a Seahawk player.

Detroit finds yet another way to lose. Sloppy, crazy game resulting in a Pitt win. The Seahawks home streak went POOF!

    Plenty of drama this weekend.

    Next week:
Dallas vs Philly to decide the NFC East.
SF vs Arizona to decide a wild-card spot.
Will Seattle win the NFC West + home-field? Or collapse once more into a wild-card?
Broncos need a win to clinch home-field.
Will Carolina clinch the NFC South + bye?
Who gets the final AFC wild-card? Pitt could win it as an 8-8 team...

Packers need some help now. They need the Bears to lose tonight. Might happen as this game is almost meaningless for Philly.
