As always, a strong turnout in Marseille for the Open 13. Five top tenners in an ATP 250 event, should be a good one. Delpo is the defending champion. Wildcards are Monfils, Gulbis and some guy called Lucas Pouille.

Pouille already had a wild card this year. Wonder if he's that country's Jack Sock.

And I see JW Tsonga winning it. Early exit, well rested, and ready to go.

Llodra or Gulbis - love the long shots!!

In reality, if not one of those, I think Gasquet. Genuinely think Llodra will take out DelPo. I think Delpo needs an easy week after winning Rotterdam, even though he has points to defend here. Plus Llodra is in great form, won this in 2011, and pulled out of Rotterdam to focus on this.

Field too good for a 250.....Delpo to defend his title here.

I see no reason why Delpo doesn't defend here. Only one that could threaten him would be Berdych, imo.

Wow, Gulbis actually entered another tournament?

DelPo is gunning for a back to back. His groundstrokes look beautiful; serve looks strong ... I just hope his stamina is up to it.

    I'll definitely be watching Gulbis.
He looks to have taken tennis more seriously now, his skills are tremendous but in the past he looked like he was playing at a local park.

Logically Delpo would carry his form over here. However I think if he defends this title as well I don't think he can go deep in Dubai.

Well, Gasquet is in-form and well rested. I think he will take it.

Looking forward to see Llodra and Gulbis playing. I hope they both go deep.

    Interesting anticipated (potential) matches:
    - Gasquet Vs. Monfils
    - Davydenko Vs. Tsonga
    - Llodra Vs. Del Potro

Pretty awesome selection of players this tournament. Singles draws are here: http://www.open13.fr/singles-results.html

    Devvarman will play Tomic...

We are on track for Davydenko Vs. Tsonga, with Nikolay wining his first round game. Should be fun.

Also, what's the deal with Goffin. I thought he was someone we could all get excited about? Seems like every time he walks on court he gets flattened

I've never understood the hype about Goffin. Can't imagine him in the top 10 at any point in time unless he improves massively in pretty much every area.

Muller is hitting lines on serve, looks like a third set is imminent.

Richie was cruising, but a hiccup in the middle of the second set is enough to ensure a decider.

My god. Gasquet with the shot of the year (on break-point no less), but the linesman calls it out and Richie out of challenges...

Ball was in too. Come on Gasquet, show us your angry side!

Absolute BS if Gasquet loses the set.

Is there any way we can completely get rid of linesmen and use real-time hawkeye.....?

Muller gifted the second set by the linesmen. Crowd booing, as they should.

Edit: Gasquet broken serving for the match, losing 4 straight points from 5*-3 30-0. Credit to Muller though, he played great, went for his shots.

Gasquet will certainly start seriously considering retirement now, no? I mean at some point the bad losses have to get to you.

Some things never change. Gasquet still has the choker mentality somewhere in him. Though really, he got undone by a terrible call which would have given him the break back in the second set.

Probably not in the second month of a year where he already has won two tournaments. Bad loss, nonetheless.

lol Monfils making Marcel Granollers look like a top 10 player. How is he allowed to even enter these tournaments anymore?

See ya Monfils. Back to back first round exits. Hurt himself against on the last point too. You'd think Granollers had the serve of Milos Raonic.

missed today's matches (was out with friends)...

    Gasquet lost?! How?
Monfils lost?! (was he messing around too much as usual?)

Was Llodra vs. Goffin competitive? I love Llodra's game. Will be fun to watch him against Del Potro.

I hope Gulbis brings his best against Berdych.

Gulbis destroyed Nieminen today, and the Finn has being in flying form lately! I genuinely think he will take out Berdych tomorrow. Match of the day no doubt. Repeat of this

Devvarman can't seem to handle tomic's junkballing very well, but seems to be competitive when tomic is giving him more consistent shots.

Berdych vs Gulbis is the one - really pulling for a Gulbis win. A perfect storm of my hope for Gulbis to realise his potential and my dislike for T-Berd.

Simon Vs. Haase is turning out to be a good match!

Simon gets broken when serving for the match but then breaks Haase again. Simon now serving for a 2nd time for the match lol. And he wins it.

If Gulbis beats berdych here - does he get less points because it's a 250 tournament as opposed to a grand slam?
