I like to root for Jerzy, but I don't have a lot of confidence in him yet so I never feel like he's got a game in the bag. Nice to see he's got a quick break in the second set, though.

I like Jerzy... has potential. I would have liked to see how he matches up with Benneteau, but I'm not need a TV now.

Nahh, you can tell Janowicz has the mental strength to close this out... saved MP vs Murray and came from 2 sets down in the 'how many times' match

Do you get Tennis Channel? They've been rebroadcasting early round coverage in the evenings. Maybe they'll show this one tonight.

Yeah from what I can tell he saved 1 SP serving 4-5 down in the 1st set as well.

Is Jerzy due another top 10 win? :)

Tsonga - Tomic underway. 3-3. Jo's had a couple of break points. Tomic looks like he's serious this year.

    2 BPs Tomic now.

Tomic chases a drop shot down outmaneuvers Tsonga 30-0. Tsonga fails another drop shot at 40-0 and Tomic grabs the first 6-4.

    Tomic is 13/13 W/UE
    Tsonga is 11/14 W/UE

Tsonga with his 5th BP. Can he convert?

    Nope.

    6th BP.

Tsonga converts for the first time, approaching the net, forcing Tomic to hit it into the net.

Wow. Tsonga half-volleys an inside-out FH. Exquisite. Up 2-0 2nd set.

    Edit: 3-0

    Now 3-1

Tomic taking a long hard look at the line after Tsonga blasts his 2nd ace to win the game to 30. Tomic has had like 6 bad challenges, so far.

    2-2

Tsonga half volleys at the net for the winner. Deuce. Follows it up by a bh in the net.

Tsonga hits a bh on the line that's called wide. Back to deuce.

Tsonga hits a winner. His first BP of the 3rd.

Fails to convert. Another bh in the net. Deuce.

This explains why Federer's BP conversion rate against Tomic in the AO is like 3/16 or something.

What are you on about? Tsonga definitely had 1 and maybe 2 BPs (don't recall) in that game.

And yeah Tsonga's conversion rate hasn't been good today. But Tomic has gone for it when being down.

Tsonga hits two consecutive forehand drop volleys and gets away with it.

Goes from 0-40 to 40-40, is this where Tsonga takes it?

    Nope.

Tomic holds after a great rally and finishes it with a bhdtl winner.

    5-4. Tsonga to serve.

Tomic complaining about a lob that was called in after he wins the point a few strokes after. Replay shows it was well out.

Tomic with a minibreak and two MPs. Tsonga saves the first.

Tomic can now serve it out 6-5
