doesn't that apply to anyone? mono, not 2.0, back, he was just a baby, ankle, dead relative, taking a break after a great 2011, past his prime, prime ended in latter half of 2006, prime ended in 2007, the chair, the leg, the knee, the back, divorce, before dr. Igor, before the egg, before the gluten free diet, the light, it was too dark, it was too damp, he is too old, it was raining, shadow covered half the court.

    Is Gulbis playing?
Couldn't find him on any list, regular entry, qualifying or wildcard.

They should at least give him a chance to qualify.

Don't think he has to qualify being 39th in the rankings.

Roddick took his spot in a surprising turn of events!

Just a mix-up probably. I'm sure Gulbis will play. One does wonder how mistakes like this happen.
I mean, what do Gulbis and Roddick have in common? Nothing! Except a good serve.

Fine, they have 1 thing in common, a good serve..and an attacking playstyle.
Okay, they have 2 things in common, a good serve, an attacking playstyle and a shared interest in smashing racquets.
Sorry, i'll do that again. They have 3 things in common. A good serve, an attacking playstyle and an interest in smashing racquets.
Did I mention arguing with the umpire already?

Gulbis should definitely be in, as he mentioned in his interview that he's the most dangerous unseeded player at RG. Meanwhile, I think Delpo is out.

What's wrong with Delpo? He was playing so well in IW and seemed to be finding some form.

He's injured and went back to Argentina to recover. From what I've heard it's still unkown whether he'll play or not. Or did I miss the latest update?

wow that would be too bad ... he did seem to go a bit wobbly while playing paire in rome ... poor guy ... guess he's destined to play a spotty schedule ... after all, if he prefers argentine cooking to french cooking for the next couple weeks!

I don't know really, I thought that was what happened because in your link Roddick was ranked #39, which is the same as the ranking of Gulbis.

But then I saw they used the rankings of 16 april so that doesn't make sense either. Still, i'm going with the mix-up hypothesis :)

Either way, since Gulbis was talking about being the most dangerous unseeded player, as pointed out by one of the posters above me, I'm pretty sure he'll be there.

I expect Nadal - Federer final if they are on the other side of draw.

Otherwise, I expect Nadal - Federer semi becoming actual final.

These 2 are still the forces on clay.

Well spotted, looks like they mixed them up indeed. Do they miss Roddick or something? Strange because he sucks on clay, I'd much rather see Gulbis in my tournament.

Anyone paying attention to the Qualifying tournament? Anything interesting happening? I have to admit most of the names are pretty unknown to me. I see several of the U.S. men have won their first matches.

Can't see beyond Djokovic or Nadal here, unless the former takes out the latter (please no) and then plays Federer in the final as I would give Fed a small chance there.

Gulbis looking good before a slam only ever seems to lead to a first round loss for him, hopefully he can reverse that trend as he is by far the most dangerous floater in the draw. Should be great tournament, bar the seemingly lengthy list of injury casualties.

    May the best man win...

Novak won't win this, IMO. I can see a handful of guys who could take him out in the latter stages...

Is wawrinka going to play, or is he missing this officially? such a shame.

And who are these handful of players that can take out Cvac at RG in best of 5? No one is who.

People are reading way too much into Cvac's losses in Madrid and Rome. Those losses mean squat and he will still win RG.

As the clay mug retires to keep his decency it would be 1, 4 and 2, 3 meaning djokee is a lock for final and he is gonna win his 2nd slam of the year..I dont fancy rafas chances at all against this maan

I think Djokovic is going to win this year. He's not going to lose to guys like Berdych and Dimitrov at RG where he'll be more focused. Also, it's best of 5.

He's also the only guy that seems to be able to handle Nadal on clay.

The matches where Djokovic faltered so far this year seem like the kind he would turn around and win in 5 sets if it were a major. He would outlast Delpo, Dimitrov, and Berdych, in a sort of match he played against Wawrinka at AO2013 or Tsonga at RG2012. At least that's how I see it. After all, Djokovic almost never misses a slam final, except if a freak occurrence happens and Federer summons god-mode for a match.

Given that, I think we'll see Djokovic make it at least to Nadal in Roland Garros. And he has the clay H2H advantage this year as opposed to last year. So it could be close; this could be Djokovic's year for the CYGS! Also, are the women and men playing in the same draw this year or what? lol

Suddenly the job of the drawmakers is getting a lot more complicated, as the potential blockbusters Djokovic/ hot players, dark horses are dropping like flies by the minute.

The focus will now shift towards ensuring, that, at least the SF opponents ensure some rivalries.

Nadal-Tsonga and Djokovic-Federer will be what they will be aiming for.

    You are correct.

That would have been the scenario, where Murray is still in.

    It is a Federer-Nadal and Djokovic-Ferrer/Tsonga, then.

I wouldn't see Nadal-Tsonga as a blockbuster, far from it to be honest.

Tsonga is so hit and miss, normally miss when he plays the top guys, it's almost as if he doesn't believe he can beat any of the top guys.

Look at it from the positive side.

They will spare themselves from spending enregy at RG and will be (eventually) ready to kick *** at Wimbledon.

Every time they've been able to at RG, they've put Nadal and Djoko in the same half (they couldn't last year and in 2011 because they were the top 2 seeds but notice how they made sure that Fed wasn't in Rafa's half of the draw ). I have no doubt that's what's gonna happen this year again. Their only objective at RG is to favor Fed.

    No.

Their only objective is, to protect their viewership ratings.

Your theory could fly, if Federer was the second best favourite (based on form) in the last two years.

Unfortunately for you, Djokovic had this place, so, in reality, they were avoiding the eventual possibility of Nadal, being eliminated before the final, which would have hurt their TV ratings significantly.

No, it's cold this week as well in the Netherlands. It's just this week though, we had some pretty sunny days last week. I think the weather around this time of year should be perfect in Paris so unless we're unlucky the weather shouldn't be an issue.
