He has no chance against Nadal in a final. He's hoping for Djokovic.

He pretty much had match point in Rome, and Madrid wasn't far off at all either. Ferrer would rather have Nadal.

And then you saw what happened to him at Acapulco and last years French Open. He is too small to handle Nadal's heavy spin in a best of 5 set match. Fatigue already sets in by the 3rd set for him in all their matches that he starts out well in.

Wildest dream: Wawrinka-Tsonga final... totally unlikely.
    Less unlikely: Djokovic-Tsonga
    Almost guaranteed: Djokovic-Ferrer
Dreaded (for me): Nadal-Ferrer... no more please, I like both but just no.
    Nadal-Tsonga would be nice too.

And I want Serena to crush everyone and take that heavy trophy.

Last year was last year and Acapulco was months ago. Rome and Madrid is what you have to look at.

In fact, Ferrer has never been this even with Nadal on clay as he is now.

    Why is that so unthinkable?

He was one smash for getting a double match point in 2nd set just 2-3 weeks ago..

Sure this a 5-setter, but Ferrer is physically fit as we all know..

In anyway, there's a much bigger chance Ferrer can take out Nadal now than Soderling in 2009.

No there isn't. Their style of play is radically different. But with Ferrer, it's not JUST the way he plays, it's also the mental.

I think that's the issue with Ferrer though, I can quite easily imagine him winning a set, and maybe having a set point for a second set as well, but his mind will cramp up and he'll mess up.

4 tight sets of missed opportunities is probably as good as he'd get.

    Woah, two bagelpoints for Janko.

Is Sharapova tanking to avoid having to face Serena again?

Shame that they're playing the QF's at the same time. Both matches are good, no?

I don't find them annoying, but would love to see the French Win, particularly since Llodra's kid is in the stands.

Are you sure? I don't know about Roland Garros, but it definitely happens at Wimbledon. In 2011, RNadal :D was playing MFish  in the QF, and the RFederer/JTsonga QF was happening at the same time. The latter finished first, and I remember because RNadal looked at the scoreboard where the RFederer/JTsonga match result was being shown, whilst the audience erupted in applause at JTsonga's smothering of RFederer. :p
