I think now would be the perfect time to hold the draw to be honest...... Might kill enough time for Murray and Simon to finish playing a point :-D

I want the revenge final of M-C. Hope Rafa will still be fresh enough and Nole won't get the draw from hell this time. Also tired of Fed getting cake. Looking at the quarter lineup in Madrid right now. Nadal, Murray and Djoko's slot: 3 top players: Berd, Ferrer, Tsonga. 4th quarter a joke. What gives?

Have you read Nadal's pressers lately? His knee is in sad shape and he is even talking about having to stop again in order to do something about it. Why any Nadal fan would be a fan of Cvac and actually root for him to play Nadal, even though he can't beat him, is not much of a fan. I think you need to go to Cvac's website and post on his board, if you don't already.

What do you think of Nadal's chances of winning Rome? No chance, right? How about Madrid? No chance? How about if Nadal played your mom? Your mom would win that in straight sets yes?

You should post Nadal's presser. Show us your favorite quotes :D

If Nadal wins Madrid (which is pretty much a certainty unless he gets hit by lightning) who thinks Nadal might wind up in Ferrer's quarter in Rome? If he takes out Ferrer in the quarters, Ferrer loses 180 points and a Nadal win in the final would give him the number 4 ranking I think ;)

LMAO who is going to beat him now? Djokovic gone, Fed gone... funny enough I could have seen Dimitrov beating him but he's gone too and would have been unlikely to make the final anyway.

I could cut you some slack if you were like "I think Nadal still could lose" you know fair enough if you think him winning isn't certain, but acting like him losing is certain? That's as absurd as a painting by Salvidor Dali ...being used as a tablecloth for a bunch of elephants eating fish and chips with The queen of England and Adolf Hitler

Nadal is most likely winning Madrid, and I'm actually pleased for him since he's only won it once before on clay. He loses MC but wins Madrid, this is actually a refreshing start to clay season for once.

well I don't want to be like you and monfed and just be like "so and so is winning 100%" ;) anything can happen. Nadal could get injured. But it's as near to a certainty as you can get.

As for Rome, it'll be Nadal or Djokovic. Depends what version of both players turns up and maybe the draw.

I agree with the last part. The 8 year MC run was amazing. Time to win Madrid this year and head into the last 2 clay events with momentum.

Not me. The battle for #4 is over and the more interesting question is, whether Nadal and Djokovic will be in the same half in Rome. I think they will be and here are the reasons:

    1) If Nadal is in Djokovic's half in Rome, noone can complain, that he is not in his half at RG

    2) They will still get their Nadal-Djokovic encounter (unlike Madrid, where Djokovic was bumped out early)

    3) Since the battle for #4 is pretty much over (I think), they will give to Ferrer a bit of fresh air. After all the dude is 30+ and relies heavily on the points from the clay court season

    4) will be able to fit in the other half Federer + all the other players, who are hot at the moment (Wawa, Dimitrov, maybe Nishi), thus ensuring some atractive matches in the boring tournament, but without jeopardizing the position of the top claycourters at the moment

    EDIT:

How about this. Once the draw is out, everyone insists that their fav player got a tough draw and his rivals got a cakewalk. Let us decide beforehand what constitutes (or doesn't) a tough draw and see which player gets the easiest draw.

I made a thread like that once.

I think players to avoid are dimitrov and wawrinka. obviously djokovic and Nadal are favourites though but both seem to be in patchy form.

How about djokovic taking out Nadal in the quarters or semi and fed landing in murray's half and somehow hitting form? Nah not likely is it?

What do I hear about Rafa CAN'T beat Novak? Come on. He's leading their head to head overall and he led 3-1 last year. I like both because I like the way they play and there's no one else out there whose game style I like as much as theirs. Simple. I'm sure each one of them would rather play someone else but hey, fair enough, they're human after all. For a spectator though, clash of the titans has more appeal than titan vs midget (or titan vs second rate or titan vs has-been). Also fair in my book.
My only concern for Rafa in Rome at this point is the physical freshness. If he feels the wearout (from all those titles and finals), it would probably be a reasonable option for him to take a breather in Rome and arrive fresh at RG.

so this is the new tradition youre starting?
Posting tournament discussion threads miles before they begin?
Your OP is nothing better than posting XXXXXXXXXX

so you've figured out that starting a thread MILES before posting ANY information about the tournament can get thousands of posts in that thread ...... everybody figured that out YEARS ago ... perfect example of putting in no effort for a tournament thread, but until you, NOBODY did it that way!

that's the new tournament thread according to you:?:
so how many tournament threads have you done this way?
    hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

You seriously need a life. NOBODY cares about the first post once the actual tournament gets under way. And btw, this thread was created on Thursday, the tournament starts on Monday.

I'm sorry I was premature, should've started it on Sunday at 11:59 p.m.

It's not the point that you started a thread.
The point is that you started a thread with NOTHING IN IT ... a lazy, empty OP

and then you started another one with the SAME SUBECT also with NOTHING IN THE OP!

Please tell me what kind of information would you like to see in a GENERAL THREAD ABOUT A MASTERS TOURNAMENT. It's a standard thread required for every big tournament and I don't feel it needs extra data to start off.

In the second thread, the top 8 seeds were already announced and since Nadal was in Djokovic's half for the first time ever it was approriate to make a new thread. Moreso, as there has been so much talk about being seeded 4th for the FO and since Ferrer is in Nadal's quarter there is nothing Ferrer can do to be seeded 4th for the FO cause he would have to take out Nadal (or count on Nadal losing which we're not discussing right now).

Besides, you seemed to miss TENS of other threads about draws without ANY INFORMATION WHATSOEVER (I pointed out the top 8 seeds and I'm completing the draw as we speak) with a lot of posters typing when the draw was taking place.

RNadal :D is ready to sweep up NDjokovic  in the SF. I just wish they had been drawn in the QF instead, so NDjokovic could lose even more points. :p

Of course it dies. And it should. It was made purely to point out that the draw panned out different than it does 99% of the time AKA Nadal in Djokovic's half.

Standard tournament threads don't need any effort to be put in because once the matches start nobody cares about the OP. Check out my other threads (not the standard ones) to see how "lazy" I am.

The only information that I would bother to include is if a big name withdrew or the weather forecast would be terrible for the entire week and destroyed the entire tournament schedule.

Looks like a first round exit is in store for Isner. Disgraceful. Anybody know what the odds were on that match? I'm sure Isner was a pretty decent favorite.
