Can dimitrov finally break the mold and beat the two frenchmen who currently have his # , gasquet and tsonga.
Will the solely touted bulgarian finally face the swiss maestro in the qtrs?

Was that the same chair umpire that Janowicz got into it with at the Australian?

Ralph is a lock to win this. He may drop a set in the semis to Djokovic but thats about it.

Wawrinka should be eliminated in the first match, wow that final still hung over from it....Pushing and moonballing with that single handed BH ...

I know. Just jokin'. Am pretty sure he'll do welL and would want to redeem himself from his last Masters 1000 performance. His 2 other nemesis should duke it out in the other half. Murray will probably not even reach the semis to play Fed. This might be a good chance for him to win this thing. Maybe, Rafa and Djoker will tire each other out in the semis, and take this missing title as his first of the year. Possibilities my friend.

We'll just have to wait and see. Honestly, I want him to lose early as well, to better prepare and be rested for the FO. Im hoping that somebody else other than the BIG 4 will win Rome, which I dont think will happen.

Dimitrov took care of Baggy but Gasquet could prove to be too good. If somehow he can carve his way into tat draw, we just might see the Fed-Dimi match finally.

Meanwhile I think the Rafa- Novak match looks like a sure bet to happen, that'll be the match of the tournament possibly. If Novak wins the possible match he'll be feeling crazy confident for the FO, if Rafa wins it looks like he'll provably be in great shape of defending the FO. Good stuff, good scenarios.

I can't wait for the Djokodal match either but I am not sure of Novak's form after the Dimitrov fiasco

Why? Nadal fans aren't starting to get on your nerves Bob, are they :) ?

If Novak wins be prepared for massive decline, no BH, WTA serve etc. excuses.

It depends which Djoko shows up. That has varied wildly from day to day lately. Heck, even Montanes could beat him.

the gulbis match would be interesting....6-4 in the third in 2010 rome

interesting nadal and fognini haven't played yet..fognini's been around in a while...would have assumed they would have run into each other in a early round clay battle at some point

Second match of the day on the "Centrale". I'll be watching it. Good promises from this match. I don't wanna see Crampotrov though, so he'd better be rested/fit like Gasquet was earlier this year.

It deeply satisfies me zagor to see the Nadal faithful have a meltdown whenever their man lose.

I see you're one step ahead of me on that. :)

wasn't making fun when i asked that question, just curious.

i don't mind watching their matches. just can't get that excited about them as i know the match will nearly always be on Rafa's racquet. If he's hitting with depth he'll win handily, Novak has no chance; if not Djokovic will have a look.

It's like a single variable thing and apart from that there is little to be excited about their match-up. I'd rather watch Rafa play Ferrer as it tends to have more exciting points. Or watching Rafa play an aggressive player, his match against Verdasco at Aussie Open 2009; beautiful match. His matches against Soderling (wins and losses). Federer Vs. Nadal at Wimbledon... Wow.

Playing against a baseline grinder/retriever like Djokovic doesn't generally bring out the best in Nadal's game. Ferrer is an exception and can make it interesting due to how intelligent his game is and his intensity. You don't get a sense that they are out there doing drills.

It's not a Rafa winning based thing either, even when Rafa got trounced by Federer at IW in 2012 and at WTF the match was more interesting and level of tennis played by either player was higher than Djokovic Vs. Nadal match-ups.

anyway, kohlschreiber up a set against Raonic... guy has skill, love the drop shots and volleys.

Unless it is a 6-0 6-0 Djokovic win or something similar, I have no interest in Djokodal matches at the moment.

So the winner of Gasquet-Dimitrov will play the winner of Tsonga-Janowicz, for a potential meeting with Fed in the QF?

Nice part of the draw :)

Very dissapointing showing across the clay season by Milos. I have to assume his sudden split with coach Blanco has something to do with it.

Nadal is on the other side. Federer will make the final and if he does, he'll possibly win the title.

Or it could be that he is maturing into a big, plodding, non-moving oaf. I've watched Raonic pretty closely over the last year (mainly because I like to watch some of his opponents).

If Raonic would diet, drop some serious fat, and gain some muscle (maybe a net 10 pound loss), I think he would be a force. The guy needs to be thin and muscular.

It surprised me actually how similar Del Potro and Raonic are. Del Potro is just so much more lean and strong... his movement is so much better as a result.

I can see Haas taking out Federer and meeting Murray in the semis. I know it makes little sense but Murray will probably do well here, he has to play his way into clay season but Delpo might take Murray out. So I can see a Rafa or No1e vs Delpo, Murray or Haas final.

I sense Rafa or No1e will make a convenient early exit (probably No1e).

Oh sure, Rafa 's level of play is so much higher when getting trounced by Fed at WTF than in any RafaNole encounter (and his shots so much deeper and entertaining! )
It's a fun world you live in :) (Also Fedal match will be more interesting in Rome than Djokodal because instead of the match being on Rafa's racket- yawn- it will be on... let me guess... Fed's racket?: ) Lol

Way to generalize an entire country based on one person who can't get the time right. I'm sure no person from any other country ever made the same mistake or anything, and that there are no dummies outside of the US.

If the Wimbly officials could rig Isner-Mahut twice (though their 2nd attempt failed), I don't see why they couldn't rig Rosol-Nadal.

we might just get it in Rome. If Rosol beats Gulbis he'll play Nadal in rd.3. That's assuming Nadal gets by Fabio.
