Only seed Thats missed is tsonga. Benny>janowicz for now and Davy/dimitrov> Mayer.
gulbis' stats look great... i'm tempted to use the word 'promising' but there's some jinxing potential in it, so i won't.
he already defeated del potro (when he won LA, i think)... why not do it again ?
2nd time nieminen gives a double bagel on the tour.
(1st victim was korolev in 2007)
Vive, I agree - Gulbis to take out Del Po. When he is on fire like this he is so so hard to stop. His tennis is from another planet. He can go all the way this week. True, we might not see him in another main draw all year but that's just the way it is. He can expose Delpo's movement for sure. Gulbis for the win. PS he is so exciting to watch!
Exciting player. But, that may completely depend on how many chics are hanging around the stadium ;-).
Hopefully Grigor can back up this win and make a solid run here. He needs the confidence heading into IW where he has some points to defend
ernests is definitely one of the most exciting players to watch !
we'll see that on thursday...
Very disappointing start of '13 for the Belgian...one match win came in Brisbane. On the other side, Jarkko likes indoor HC swings in Europe, so I was expecting this win but certainly not a double bagel.
This is shocking!
Gulbis says, not only has he quit drinking, partying and smoking, he has actually been practising!
Wow... I didn't expect that...
Incredible that a player can avoid playing until Wednesday evening during an event that starts on Monday.
To be fair, Gasquet did play and win Montpellier last week. Best to give him some time to arrive, rest and adjust to the surface.
But if you were talking about Seppi, I agree, he should have already played a match.
Rogi actually, not up until 6.30pm tonight. Why not space it out a little...
Mehh.. I know he said all of that at the end but it might as well have been some mandatory stuff that all players say: "I'm working hard, hope to get my ranking up, blablabla"
Most I got out of that interview was: "I didn't play the AO because it's too far away and I don't feel like making the effort if I have to play qualies" and "I like Rotterdam because of marijuana".
he does have pretty eyes though (no ****..)
ETA: Just saw the highlights. I never really watched Gulbis play. He reminds me a bit of Safin but I don't know if it is his playing style or his attitude. He also does something strange with his left arm during his forehand backswing.
Troicki vs Flash - could this one be closer than it appears? Viktor has the winning H2H on Hard
practicing... is that even allowed in gulbisland ???
it's not considered as cheating ?
(funny interview !)
Nadal will play for the first time at Sao Paulo on late Thursday. He plays just 4 matches to win a 250.
Won't be long til a top seed just has to get a first serve in to win a 250...
he's up against Davydenko next... if he's in playstation mode there's not much that Grigor can do about it... should be fun.
it's good to see gasquet continue his solid form. this is shaping up to be a nice tournament.
True, but who says he'll win it. After all, he only won 3 recently
it was more a goffin loss than a jarkko win to be honest. david was hitting around like a kid with an uzi.
Federer is about to begin his match against Zemlja
why federer serves poor in ao remains to be seen
That was only in the Murray match. (OK maybe Tsonga) His first 4 matches had pretty good service stats.
agree, anyway those comments in the streaming sites are funny , one of them 'the winner is already decided for RG = RG ' hahha
Anyone watching Roger's match? How's he looking? The score line looks close so far.
Broke to love then held to love. Looks more confortable now.
fed sick serve and volley in 6th game!
Zem holds in 7th game. Fed leads 4-3 in the first, up a break
Fed now up 6-3 1-0.
Surprisinly good after a couple of weeks off. A bit of a rust is visible at times but all in all he's playing pretty well.
Well I wouldn't say it was surprisingly good. Was quite ******** mode at the start, but after saving 2 BPs when 1-2 down he upped his game. Now he's in the normal routine mode.
Can someone give me a stream plz?
wonderful points there by sexi but why why he cant play this cool everytime
this has to be said no player is as talented as rogi, the guy is amazing and beautiful point
Did anyone see that ballboy when he tried to avoid getting hit by Fed after MP.
How was his form?
I could not find the obligatory "Roger plays some scrub" thread. Or is that only for special pros.
How's the Dimitrov-Davydenko match going? Who is the better player? I just tuned in.
Edit: Dimi looking strong on serve, only lost 1 point in 5 games.
Dimitrov takes the first set 7-5, some nice rallies.
Davydenko must need money, fixing matches again.
nice program for tomorrow !
marcos vs richie, gulbis vs delpo... and federer on the court.
we have seen roger serves going off sometimes.
then again, i think this was first time i've seen federer going into ao without
a warm up tournament.
Understated...he faced zero BPs in the first four matches. Even vs JWT, he was fairly solid on serve.
Fixing matches goes on a lot more than you think it does. A lot of these players have the mindset that they can make a couple hundred thousand by losing in an early round rather than have to work hard to try and win a tournament or get to the SF(which they probably won't) in order to make the same amount or more. Every time you see a retirement by a better player in a match and every time you see a better player mysteriously lose a match, you have to at least suspect match fixing. It is a huge business. Read this:
and where is this list supposed to come from ?...
According to a Swedish website, it says that right in the article. Doesn't make it true, but my point is that match fixing is huge in professional sports and probably goes on a lot more than we think. There have been many articles about this topic lately in the media.
i saw that but i meant... where/how does the swedish website come up with that list ?
i guess i should make a google translation of what's written in swedish... but maybe some of our swedophone TTW members could help us ?
Don't know, that I can't answer.
