I must say it would be kind of fun to see Rafa slaughter Fed at WTF for a change. I have my doubts but I will really enjoy it if it happens. Payback time for the horrendous humiliation of the 2011 match

This I disagree with. Roger played great for the most part after the first set today. Delpo was playing well too.

  4. Apparently you've missed the last 9 years of Federer fandom.

Wait for a few years to see Nadal eating humble pie at the hands of Tomic and Dmitrov.

Maybe more accurately, like Nadal vs Novak at RG. The head to head at the venue and the conditions are in Nadal's favour, but Novak is the better player and beat Nadal often.

Novak is the better player on clay? I don't think so.

    Hope so..

Now,just imagine if the ATP tour was a bit more just and more balanced and has an equal amount of indoor events as outdoors. Fed would rule. :)

For Fed to beat Nadal, he needs two things to click for him:

    1) Footwork: Nadal's gameplan is no secret to Fed at all, Fed's BH is solid and stable enough to withstand against the topspin, especially on the low bouncing court. But it's whether Fed's fast enough to get to the ball and defend to a reasonable length that's the issue. If Fed can defend as well as he did today against Delpo, he can turn defense into attack during the rallies. But that wouldn't work unless...

    2) FH: Neither is Fed's gameplan a secret to Nadal. Both players primary aim is to find the opponent's BH. Unlike Djokovic who defends really well on both wings (in fact he is arguably a better defender than Nadal on hardcourts), Nadal's weakness is the BH. If Fed's FH can find the Rafa BH constantly, it's a safety shot for Fed as it keeps him in the rally. We've seen in Cinci how effective that is once Fed's FH is clicking, the FH is more of an issue than the BH this year.

Of course, Fed can't afford chipping returns against Rafa, though utilising the slice DTL in the low bouncing court can be certainly helpful. Fed needs to be patient, and only come to the net when Nadal is not going to make any massive impact returning the approaching shot.

    I'm really unlucky: I had a ticket for the evening match and now I get a Nole-Wawa instead of a Rafa-Federer :( :(

I've got a question for people who has attended WTF these days: Is there any big screen outside the O2 where I can see Nadal -Federer while I wait for the Nole match??

I honestly don't care if Fed wins or loses this one. I'm so happy and proud of 32 year old ******* for making it this far and managing to pull the win off against Delpo today. The odds were against him and this is a good result, regardless of what happens tomorrow. 32 year old Grampa is still giving the young guns hell and it reinforces my opinion that Federer Prime would win just as much today as he did in his glory years 04-07.

Very true..Fed is an outstanding unique amazing tennis player and still a good athlete that at the age of 32 still dictates the matches he plays...he rules.

Wow, very surprised that Nadal is only -255 to win this match. Thought he would be at least -500.

    Congrats. Enjoy.

I voted Fed in 2 also. A little Hope mixed in with the indoor dominance Facts. Something like 76 63, followed by hours of 'discussion' on these boards by Nadal's 12 yr old fans that Mirka was coaching the whole time.

If I was betting money, my money would be on Nadal tomorrow.

Federer's game is decomposing fast. His level is nothing like he played when he won 6-3, 6-0, while Nadal on hard courts has improved considerably: Indian Wells, Cincinnati, US Open, with 2 wins over Federer of all people.

I will be rooting for Federer big time, of course, but wishful thinking is not a high percentage habit.

RN needs to find a little more length, mid court balls in this arena leave a lot of angles open.

This one different....Federer owns Nadal in Indoors but Nadal is the best player this year. Federer finally has some good streak of matches.....but I don't know if it is enough.

Well, Rafa, this is your best, and probably last, chance to beat Roger at a important stage of the WTF. Go for it, mate! I say Rafa in 3. It's going to be very difficult and I will suffer. Having said that...

Highly doubt it mate! Fed isn't in top form and he won't be fresh tomorrow. Nadal is pumped and will be waiting. He'll get it done in two.

Fed's slices against Delpo were magical, can it tame Rafa's forehand on this court?

    Nadal is a 2-1 favorite.

Nadal in 3, or Federer in 2. Those are the likeliest outcomes.

Neither is Rafa, buddy. Did you watch his matches? He is not playing good as well. And I thought that, aside from the mental lapses, Sexi was pretty decent today. You should put more trust in your guy!

If this was last year, I would have for sure! But its not that Fed won't have chances. Its that even when he does he won't seal the deal and that will play on his mind and Nadal being the rock he is will finish it. I honestly think Rafa in 2 tomorrow. Old man might be tired and just not tough enough mentally.

He should win since he's got an extra day off. I don't think old Fed will fully recover in less than 24 hours.

    Pressure is all on Nadal.

You must be one of the very small minority who actually believes Roger is the favourite for the match.

Federer fans, let's hope Roger Federer can pull off the upset against Nadal, as unlikely as that may be given the context of the year and Federer's recuperation time of less than 24 hours after having a hard match emotionally as much as anything against Del Potro.

Have you ever read the posts of Fednad, Monfed, Magnus, Omega, Whiskee, Dudeski etcetera ........Veronique's post is a puppy compared to the vitriol these haters spit out........wanting for Rafa to get injured etc etc

Who will win, who will win?????
Scenarioes going through my mind and i am trying to figure out.
I even tend to get superstitious and trying to "feel" what will happen.
Building it up even more in my head. Just ridiculous!
But the truth is i will be happy whoever wins..... i think!

Ok, i will try to think of something else and go to sleep.
    Sweet dreams everybody :)
