He folded pretty badly against Murray at Wimbledon and against Nadal in Montreal as well, in addition to New York. He just doesn't have the confidence he can beat Nadal and Murray (to a lesser extent) on the big stage anymore.

coupled with is the fact that nadal is playing a much more relaxed game these days.

he is starting to trust his game and himself better.

    nothing shakes him anymore.

just 110 days to go now.

nadal is going to turn the world of tennis upside down at the Australian open.

he is on a roll. he will strike while the iron is hot.

he is going to keep the hard court streak going.

Novak knew he should have lost in 3-4 max at FO. Nadal sent a message when he said it was like the AO 2012. The difference between the tournaments was that Nadal had been out due to injury, and quite frankly, was rusty. The same can't be said for AO 2012. I do wonder if Novak has fallen into some older patterns.

I wonder which restaurant nadal is going to target in Melbourne in 110 days? he is becoming more and more superstitious with each passing year.

Superstitious Nadal dined way to title

    FOX Sports

Talk about a creature of habit.

During his run to this year’s US Open title, Rafael Nadal wanted to keep his mojo going any way possible. According to Page Six, that included eating the same meal as often as he could.

Nadal reportedly munched on Chilean sea bass, fried rice and noodles at Tao in Midtown on the nights he wasn’t playing in the evening. That includes on Sunday, the day before his final win over Novak Djokovic.

On Monday, after he won, Nadal took a group of 20 back to Tao to celebrate. The kitchen reportedly stayed open until 12:30 am for the champ and his posse.

This isn’t the first time an athlete has believed in a specific pregame meal. There have been others, like Usain Bolt (Chicken McNuggets), Paul Pierce (PB&J sandwiches), Wade Boggs (chicken), Michael Phelps (everything), Kerri Walsh (almond butter and honey sandwiches) and Michael Jordan (steak and potatoes).

I don't think nadal is going to sweep the slams in '14. But he will chip away at the number to beat. But when he does pass sampras, can ***** please stop writing threads posing questions like would Nadal "have the weapons" to beat pete. That is a such a joke.

Sampras was blessed to be playing in a flat groundstroke era where he could also come to net and not get slammed by a ball from a poly strung stick.

Why is a depressed Batman watching nadal? What about Wolverine? Wanna throw him in there too? I would have included bullwinkle just for his smile.

The AO 2013 final will feature one of Nadal/Djokovic, and a surprise finalist, like in the olden days.

(I'd make a prediction for the surprise finalist, but then it wouldn't be a surprise!)

nadal and nole can only meet in the final.

I am thinking nole wont get to the final this time.

the pressure he faces is immense this time and its very real. nadal is coming for him.

Yes and that surprise finalist would be Murray. Novak would winn convincing match in 4 sets.

The same will happen in 2014. Only the surprise finalist will probably be someone else and Novak will win in 3 sets.

Nadal will lose to Ferrer or someone similar in QF like he did in 2011 (after he won USO in 2010).

Spartans and the greeks got the last laugh.

as for the Spartan king, He (Leonidas) is the ultimate gold standard for skill, bravery, and courage on the battlefield.

it can never be approached, let alone equaled.

Nadal is not winning more than 15 slams and you can quote me on that.

    2014

    AO Nadal
    RG Djokovic
Wimbledon Federer(if he wins it will be his last) or Murray
    USO Djokovic

    2015

    AO Djokovic
    RG Nadal(his last slam title)
    Wimbledon Murray
USO Murray or some new slam winner

    2016

    AO Djokovic
    RG New slam winner
    Wimbledon New slam winner
    USO Murray

All I know is that I want the winner of AO 2014 to win the other 3 slams. As usual, my main dream is for someone in my lifetime to pull the calendar slam.

    you know it.

one thing that is not being talked about now is the fact that he is in a position to end up with 38-40 masters series shields.

that is a record that can never be approached, much less equaled.

and that will be his 2nd greatest achievement.

his third greatest achievement will be 17-18 slams.

and his absolute greatest achievement will be his 10+ RG crowns. that record will stand for 100,000 centuries and longer.

it is by far the hardest slam to win.

with those 3, he blows everybody right out of the water.

based on what you are all witnessing right now and what you have witnessed all year long, who is your most likely champion at the Australian open?

can roger rebound and be a factor? what about del potro? he is a fast rising star in the sport.

how well will nole, nadal, and murray do there?
