what is with Athens getting it again ?? Taube family stadium is getting Super HD cam soon and you will be able to see all the matches in HD quality. They will be the 1st ever college tennis stadium to have such capability.
and not again til 2019 ??? at the earliest ?

my guess is that the NCAA, like many top recruits nowadays, forgot stanford has a men's tennis program and courts

Stanford should never host the NCAA's. Who wants to go to a stadium and have sight of only three courts. This is a team event. I want to be able to at least grab a glimpse of what all the players are doing and follow the big points on all courts. To me I would rather watch a match at the back up courts across the streets, than the main stadium. And while we are on that, I hate watching national indoors at Virginia where if you are not playing on the main courts, they stick you on two different sets of three courts and as a spectator you have to run back and forth to try to keep up with what's going on. It's not right for the players also.

Did Stanford bid on the NCAA's? Do they have indoor courts as a backup? If so, I am surprised they or some other West Coast team did not get to host. One would think either UCLA or USC would want to host. If they have a lack of courts the men and women could be split between the two schools. While Stanford's main stadium is great the other 6 courts are not nearly as nice. I prefer the back to back with 6 courts on each side arrangement.

While Tulsa has a fantastic facility its teams are not doing well this year, which if that is true in the future, attendance will be bad. Tulsa is not exactly a place you would want to visit very often and they already get the All American in the fall.

I have never been to Waco, but at least Baylor has a good team.

that is why you have the giant scoreboard to tell you how other players are doing.

Georgia is the same way. Stanford's second six have better viewing than Georgia's second six. Stanford doesn't need indoor courts in May. It almost never rains in may. Meanwhile. Georgia's 4 indoor courts are hot, humid, with lousy viewing.

Waco itself is really bad. I was driving around it just thinking how terrible it was. But Baylor's facility is super good and well designed.

I just watched the video tour of Baylor's tennis facility. It is indeed fantastic. The 2013 new indoor courts are equally fantastic. The video board tracts all scores on all 12 courts. It has live streaming. The main six courts have 1500 chair back seats and it can seat around 3,000 with temporary bleachers and you can watch all 6 courts at once. They are adding some sort of awning for the fans, which is really nice as central Texas in mid May can be brutal and worse than Athens. The other six courts are equally well laid out. The six indoor courts are very close by. This surely must be among the best college tennis facilities in the nation. I do not know if they have warm up/practice courts like Illinois did.

I sure can see why the NCAA picked Baylor as a host for next year's NCAA's.

I have been to the last 6 NCAA tourney's and this one is by far the best facility that I have seen. Duke's is similar in design. Next best was TAMU with two banks of 6 courts back to back with seating in between Illinois was also excellent with a similar layout, but the fan seating should have been higher and you had to look through the fences. Stanford and UGA do not have the back to back 6 court layout and mostly you can only watch 3 courts in the primary facility. Tulsa was nice but you can only watch 3 courts at a time.

UGA is disaster when it rains with only four non air conditioned indoor courts and it often does rain. If there ever is an all day rain, they will have to send players to GT (4 indoor courts) in Atlanta and maybe to Columbia, SC or Clemson, SC (4 indoor courts). There surely must be other indoor courts around the Atlanta area, but I have nave never heard anyone mention them.

You are right about UVA's other 6 indoor courts, which are generally used for the back draws, after the first day. The one really good thing about UVA is that there are 12 indoor courts under one roof and there is a place to stay right at the Boars Head club hotel, if the rooms are set aside for the teams. In Houston the two court facilities were miles apart. In Seattle the same thing exists for the two facilities. The Chicago private indoor club has lots of indoor courts, but spectator seating is not good. Except for the small airport in Charlottesville with limited numbers flights, I think UVA is the best place for the NTI. The NTI is generally poorly attended unless the home team is playing.

Will Denver have another first round upset? There are not as good as last year's team, but a good upcoming school.

Big push for success at DU. Ski team won another national championship, Lacrosse is headed for another final four, and Hockey is always good with seven national championships!

    Go DU tennis!!

I can't make it out to Kentucky to watch the Pioneers. Was so fortunate to be able to make it to Gainesville last year to catch the upset. Go PIOS! Do it again!

But, it's nice to have them as a backup regardless. I remember in 2006, Stanford hosted and, indeed, got rain. Teams had to travel up to around SF to the indoor courts. I remember because I was following the Northwestern women and they lost to USC 4-3 indoors.

Clearly, rain is enough of rarity that Stanford should host even if they don't have indoor courts, but, again, it can't hurt to have indoor courts nearby in case of an emergency.

Agree wholeheartedly. we should all pitch in and donate for 6 court indoor stadium courts with HD webcams on each court, right next to Taube stadium.

The NCAA took the links down last week and put them back up today. A few changes of note:

UCLA - Brymer at 4 and Puget at 5. They were switched prior.
Ohio State - Steinbach up from 4 to 3. Diaz down from 3 to 4.
    Kentucky - Roberts from 5 to 6. Lai from 6 to 5.
    Illinois - Bazarnik from 3 to 4. Kopinski from 4 to 3.

That's what I'm guessing though Diaz has played at 3 just about all year for Ohio State so I'm not sure on what ground they'd lose.

I hope Clemson didn't challenge Kentucky's lineup because I actually thought UK made a mistake with that switch and it was going to come back to bite them. Because Kentucky is going to win #6 no matter what vs Clemson and Johnson has a better chance to beat Roberts than Lai.

I believe Tucker realizes Steinbach is the 3rd best player in the lineup and gives the team the best lineup for winning.
The switch occurred for the Big 10 tournament.
Diaz had started early in the year at #2, was inconsistent, dropped a spot and recently had been struggling at #3.
Steinbach has been impressive recently, put a big point on the board in the big ten tourney final vs. #56 ranked Kopinski of Illinois, and in the last 11 matches when paired with Kobelt at #1 doubles , the two earned enough quality points to be selected as an alternate for the NCAA doubles tournament.

They're all just switching two consecutive spots. Is that enough to challenge? It's not like 2 is going to 5 and 5 up to 2.

They are playing outdoors and video is only on indoor courts. Same for Kentucky and Illinois.

Several of the women's sites have outdoors streaming - UVA, Duke, Texas A&M, Georgia, Stanford, Cal, and Baylor.

Rain delay - courts being dried since they are trying to stay outside. I think there is a good chance of rain at Kentucky as well.

Stream isn't working for me - just shows a bunch of bars. I like the point by point scoring they have in the scoreboard below the bars but it amazes me that after a full season they haven't figured out how to put the singles scores in the right slots. They put 1-3 singles in the 1-3 doubles spot so once it goes past a 1st set you don't know the score.

you watching any of the Clemson vs Purdue TD? Looks like court 3 has the best video quality and angle. The other courts you cannot see the player on the near court

Mullins is a major grinder. O'Leary showed great tenacity and was a mental giant in the 3rd.
