Berdych could be dangerous in heavy slow conditions. He is one of the few it would help. As an average mover it gives him time and he is capable of hitting through the slow conditions...

Exactly. Not that he'll beat Djokovic or even make it competitive because he has a huge mental block and doesn't do anything that troubles Novak, but his chances increase by about 0.5% in these conditions. It's probably why he's beating Ferrer pretty easily right now.

Berdych will bow to his master (the earths mightiest warrior) - Novak Djokovic!

I really hope the rain stays away for the rest of the tournament. The past few days have been a horror.

I think the thing to remember is this mostly hinges on Djoko, if he plays too passive Berdych can make it difficult with big hitting . The only reason he lost a set to RBA was himself. To a lesser extent that applies to playing Berdych too, but factor in conditions as well. He just needs to be extra cautious and be 100% vested during the match.

We all know you are a toddler tennis decrepit (can't even spell the word tennis properly). It's ok, keep dreaming.

The only ones dreaming are those who think that Stan has a better peak than No1e. Even Nadal and Federer cannot quite keep up when Djokovic is at his best, even on their best surfaces(RG 2015, Wimbledon 2015) so who is Wawrinka? I respect Wawrinka for winning two slams but he's not in the same ballpark as Novak on any metric that has anything to do with tennis.

Congrats to Djokovic blnt Agut

Novak Djokovic completed a rain-affected clash against Roberto Bautista Agut on Wednesday for a place in the Roland Garros quarter-finals.

Top seed Djokovic, who has finished runner-up on three occasions, won 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, 7-5 in three hours and 16 minutes to reach his 28th successive Grand Slam championship quarter-final. He will next play sixth seed Tomas Berdych or No. 11 seed and 2013 finalist David Ferrer.

Play resumed with Djokovic leading 4-1 in the third set, under cloud cover. Djokovic immediately broke No. 14 seed Bautista Agut's serve in a 10-point game, then served out to 30 for the 43-minute set. Djokovic's concentration drifted in the fourth set and Bautista Agut capitalised to take a 4-2 lead. But the advantage was short-lived as Djokovic attacked the net and produced a string of testing drop shots to break in the seventh and 11th games.

As a result of the victory, Djokovic is the first player in tennis history to pass US$100 million in career prize money.

Bautista Agut is now 0-5 lifetime against players ranked No. 1 in the Emirates ATP Rankings. The highest-ranked player he has beaten was No. 5-ranked Juan Martin del Potro at the 2014 Australian Open and No. 5-ranked Berdych at the 2014 BNP Paribas Open.

I just don't like individuals who thinks Djokovic has Roland Garros in the bag when he's never win it in the first place.

There's a big difference winning multiple ones vs the first one and by the way he's behaving lately, you can tell he doesn't think it will be an easy victory unlike his fanboys and fangirls.

Berdych needs to hope Djokovic comes out flat like he did yesterday. If he does, and with the heavier conditions Berdych plays agressively enough he has a chance to atleast make it a match. It is just hard to see happening when you are playing a guy you joked before one match you just wanted 4 games against.

Heavyweight champion still needs to beat the odds: draw from hell in Rome vs poof poof what draw? for Murray and now RG: horror schedule, having to play 3, 4, more????? days in a row and waddle in mud half the time while #2 rides a perfect schedule and will be fresh as a daisy (and dry as a cactus) . Damn. Bring on grass already.

Federer played his best ever match in the SF last year vs Murray. He was at a similar level was Novak but Novak was on a different planet that day. Nadal won Buenos Aires, was finalist in Madrid dispatching Berdych in vintage fashion(after AO bagel) and lost just one set en route to the QF at RG(compare that to 2011 and 2013 where random players took sets off him).

Respect to Bautista Agut. But once Djokovic started dialing in his groundies, it was over.

Don't think it will happen: but Djokovic better not lose any more 1st sets - from here on out it could prove fatal. Even Pigeon Berdych would think he could win if he gets the 1st.
