I don't know anything about the Wilson, but the Head Edge TXE is a fine racquet. Take care in stringing it up as grommets are no longer available. You scored a really nice one there.

3 of the grommets on the head already look busted :( Do you know what head size it is?

Also, any info on the wilson?

I would say $3 on any racquet is a good buy, but the Wilson frame looks kinda like the ncode and kfactor.

Do these look like the head sizes are between 80 and 85? They are defiantly mid's. I believe that the Head is 81 if my research is correct.

Also, the Wilson's butt cap says "LAV", anyone know what this stands for?

what are the lettering on the Wilson's throat. From the looks of it, it looks a lot like my PS85, so probably the same mold.

The lettering says "Wilson Midsize", "Graphite Matrix"

I don't think its the same mold as the PS85, the throat looks a bit different.

I did some research on google and i found an old archive thread on this forum where someone sold the exact Wilson for $35. I'm a bit disappointed in the value but hey, it was $3, and it seems very accurate. The Head screams CONTROL by the looks of it. I can't wait to string it up! I may end up "blacking out" the Wilson.

    Enjoy you lucky...........

TXE is the top of the line Head Edge frame for that era. Stiffer and about 83 sq ins. Yes it was the reply to the 6.1 Pro staff. The Wilson was a price point below the STING and was about a 50-50 frame fiberglass to graphite. During this period we did not have the high modulus graphite that is common today, so the frames were not as stiff.

The TXE is a LASER! This thing is amazing, its too bad they don't make grommets anymore for this baby. :( Every shot i hit i crossed my fingers hopping that the string wouldn't snap. It's only a matter of time before it does for sure...
