    Wow. Just. Wow.

Seems like this is higher quality.

Designed for Roger Federer, the All Court Polo exudes refinement. Details, such as the laser cut RF on the placket, contrast taping on the inner sleeve, invisible taped side seams, and "perfect collar" that holds it shape, separate this polo from the rest. The Dri-Fit top also features subtle pinstriping, contrast stripe on back collar, hidden three-button placket with contrast stripe, and a heat transfer Swoosh on left chest. This top has a slim, athletic fit but fits true to size.

$80 is more than acceptable for this kind of polo. You guys should see the prices across Europe :) We are very lucky and privileged here in States...

Still cheaper then Roddicks $105 shirts. I'm glad they are starting to bring the shirts up to the level the pros really use not the cheap imitations.

    £35 = 56.5967 USD

    Is the $80 a typo?

That's ridiculous. I wouldn't even pay full retail price for the old ones eiter. $60 is outrageous and $80 is just a big rip off. You can get so much more stuff for 80 bucks instead and are just as good. I didn't even drop $27 on the Nadal crew of last year's AO. It just didn't look that good.

Yeah, you're right. Even though it's $80, I think this is probably the closest a retail version has ever been to what he will probably actually wear on court.

Federer is currently wearing that shirt at Abu Dhabi. Word of warning: it shows sweat patches pretty badly.

People are still going to buy it. But at least Nike are not fooling the public i suppose...

BTW, the Vapors he's wearing in Abu Dhabi are very ugly IMO.

Wayyyy too expensive. Might as well buy a pair of shoes with a warranty on them for around the same price.

The sad part of all of this is, Nike could suggest a retail of $25 and still make HUGE profits. These shirts can't cost more than $4.00 total each to make according to my secret textile sources in Bangalore.

    Its disgusting really.

I feel like a tool for buying 2 of the USO09 polos for $55 each on sale.

    Horrible collar, horrible overall quality.

Now they want $60 for a crew.

    Unreal.

$80 = £50. That's about three times as much as I would EVER spend on a tennis shirt.

WOw, cost on that is really $4, Joel?

Well, I suppose if it makes you play better and it lasts 8 yrs, $80 is fair -- under a buck per month.

But, let's be honest, this is Nike just stepping up the level of chicanery they have made famous in the first place. They didn't invent it, they just continue to perfect it.

Shirts don't make you play better, and they don't last eight years if you wear them regularly.

I think confidence level on the court can be boosted if one is 'comfortable' in what they're wearing regardless of what it is or how much it costs.

The real accessories that make a player play 'better' are corporate or batman string bed stencils, custom painted swing weights, bright silver lead tape so your opponent sees it clearly, an non-ankle socks (the ones Andre wears don't count).

***EDIT - post count also enahnces a player's overall ability and psyche out power rating.

Yeah, definitely. I was being sarcastic.

Well, I've got a few Lacostes and FILAs from 2000-2002 that still feel great. But I basically rotate 16-20 shirts, playing tennis 3-6 days/week. The well-fabricated cotton Lacostes are just amazing for a hot day. And they are perfect with jeans or casual shorts or whatever. Wash immediately after wearing and hang dry. They're fraying a little bit. You can't buy that. Poly shirts -- no way they'll last 8 years.

I'm seriously thinking about going back to playing matches in cotton polos (for the cool/wet factor, and also for the sun protection of the collars). More shirt changes, but I think it'll be worth it in the summer.

I'll continue to mix it up until I come to a conclusion. One thing is for sure, I'm not buying any $80 shirts to sweat in, LOL!
