can anyone compare the txp to the team pro?...which is stiffer? I wish they made an 84.5 team pro. The 89.5 has just a bit too much pop because the headsize is too big for my classical smapras like strokes, the craftsmanship and quality however, is ps 85 level...my team pro is stiffer than the 85 and plays like a grey jackrabbit...aces and winners just fly off the accurate face of the team pro unexpectedly. Great racquets share a resonance; it's hard to describe but it's a structural unity felt in only the top level frames, team pro qualifies in that slim field.

the team pro feels identical to the txe, could the team pro be the graphite pro mold incarnation of the txp? Why are txp (tx- professional)s so bloody hard to find??? I put up an ad ages ago and nothing....?????....ribit......chirp....would love to find a txe (tx- edge) also...

I am not sure plasma about your TXP/ Team Pro theory.

About too much pop, have you though about stringing it tighter to get less power and more control.

I know these 89.5 are hard to come by and I wouldn't want to snap it but if its too powerful for you you might want to consider that.

Thats also a old stencil, those stings must be 20 years old. It might feel better with a new string job too, if your planning on playing with it.

I'll defienetly restring it soon, good idea, not capping this one though as it plays so sleek and stiff that caps just wouldn't feel right. I should copy the stencil too, I like it more than the new stencil I got from tw...
as for the txp team pro hypothesis, it relies on the assumption that the txp is the same composition and flex as the txe (which I enjoyed for 2 years). The team pro has identical flex, and playability to the txe.
we should catalouge all of the 81's as well, from mushballs like the comp edge, to the slice, the edge, the edge with the usa flag, the txe and the stiffest of all, the graphite tour...

I have been an opponent of full-capping those old 89.5 "xxx-Pro" frames, since it significantly changes its balance and made them less head light. Since the old original grommets tend to crack so they have to be replaced anyway. So I suggest trim the Cap to a semi-cap to keep the original balance.

Gotta pull them from old pro series frames. That's why I tell people to save their old grommets when they CAP the older frames.

Yeah, the white ones... which are basically brittle trash, do crumble on contact. The black ones will come out in one piece if you're careful.

But why would you take out the black ones anyways. The main reason I would CAP these guys is because the white ones fall apart and chip.

I think that anyone who wants to take out the black ones does so out of a legacy of inner fear and envy, "BLack don't crack":
