Righty, there seems to have been alot of confusion recently about the fits of the recent Nike tops, especially the new Nadal crews and the Federer polos. This isn't anything particularly thorough or concise, but i just want to supply a reference point to compare the fits of a range of tops, so people can get a vague idea. If anyone wants more pics, just ask. For reference, i'm pretty tall and skinny, and all these tops are medium.
    Hope this helps

Righty, the big one-the new Nadal Crew. Basically, a skinny fit all round, but extra tight on the chest. Quite long aswell

Federer A) 08 Polo. Again, a slim fit and shorter sleeves, but not as tight as the new nadal one

Can't remember what its called, but this is a M fit before they decided to push the whole slim fit thing

Last years US sleeveless. This is probably as slim cut as the Federer polo, but obviously without the sleeves. Very straight cut

    Anyway, hope this helps!

the first fit is pretty weird. it clings to your body, but looks like wings on your arms. i was thinking of getting that shirt but i may reconsider!

    good thread. gracias.

De nada- i think the sleeves may loosen up abit- haven't played in it yet, so maybe a wash will soften it up

    Yeahhh...thanks for the pics :)

How tall are you, I'm 6' 4" and 205 lbs - wide shoulders and a lot more on the arms and upper body, than you have. I considered getting the Nadal in white-navy, but I think the fit is a bit weird - tight body and loose arms.

I like J Linderberg tight fit polo's better - wish they started making tennis cloths, because they make the best golf cloths available right now.

J linderberg would wip Nike's ass, if they started in the tennis business in my view :)

I love Nike, but I would be all over J Linderberg if they started in tennis.

Ha, kinda expected to leave myself open to the skinny comments-oh well. To be fair, the angle of the pictures makes things look worse- really! :p
    I'm about 6' 5" i think- haven't measured myself in ages!
    Glad this is helping :)

    Brilliant thread.

I've always noticed the inconsistent sizing by Nike (other companies too). Especially when shopping for sports gear online, finding its tigher or looser than other models of the same size.

Nike is changing their fitting system in July of this year. (Fall) They will have a detailed tag explaining the fit. They (Nike) will also have universal sizing, so if you wear a Medium in Tennis, you will need a Medium in all Nike sports.

cool post, looks like the nadal is a lot tighter?

btw are you taking these pictures on photobooth on a mac? cause you can click a button that flips it so it's not mirrored and the logo's are backwards and stuff.

I tried going up one size to a large in the nadal shirt and while that "works" it's not an very comfortable fit. The torso area on the shirt is VERY long and it seems to go up tight into your armpits.

I got the first shirt (nadal) and it doesn't fit like that for me. Perhaps you need to go 1 size up on that shirt.

The Nadal shirt is very tight, especially in the chest area, and it's kind of snug in the shoulders. If you have a medium build you should be ok with getting a large. If you have a large build you should probably order it in an X large or even an XX.

You have to be in unbelievable shape to wear this shirt. You'll see what I mean if you get it.

Yeah, large would probably be a safer bet- mines ok in medium, but i'm stick thin and lanky, so the length suits, and not tooooo tight :p

    Haha, good thread.

I can post some pics of my tshirts when my Nadal FO polo comes in a couple of days, just to show the differences in fit, if you guys want.

I have the Federer polos from Wimbledon, US Open, Masters and Australian Open in L size as well as Nadal's FO in L size.

My new Miami Nadal Polo. As you can see, less of a tight fit in comparison to the AO top, but still slim fitting, and longer than normal polos. Very soft material

Thought i'd add this for extra comparison. The Federer Olympic top. Not as slim fitting as his AO polo, but still cut straighter than standard polos.

Again, any questions, or if you need more pics, just ask :)

    lol 6'5"?

Think you need to remeasure yourself.

I'm 6'5" and I have the Nadal AO top in XL and it comes up higher on me than you.

Considering your shirts a Medium, I doubt you're actually that tall.

BTW don't worry about the skinny comments... A few years back I was prety much as skinny as you but now that i've filled out I am in need of XL tops.

I bought the Nadal AO crew in large but had to swap it for an XL one, if you have broad shoulders and muscular chest definitely get the XL as like everyone says it is tight on the chest. XL is quite long though but anyone over 6'0" would be ok with it I guess.

Got it for £30 new from Nike Town when they released it

Thanks- the nadal top is quite stiff atm because i haven't worn or washed it yet, so it won't be as stiff eventually. If i can get hold of a larger size to show you, i will

Hmm, weird, i will- i'm definitely at least 6'3" but i'll recheck! I am just plain lanky though.
And don't worry, i'm kinda used to the arm thing. The photos definitely make it look worse, but i can still out hit most people, so not too much of an issue at the mo :) Its not like i don't go to the gym, it just seems to be my build. Oh well, fingers crossed, i might turn into you!

Any more questions(or comments about my arms) are welcome! :)

I have that shirt as well... I'm 6' 3" and 175lb... I wear size 42L jacket (for reference). I originally purchased a medium (which is what I normally wear with Nike shirts) and when I put the shirt on it fit me like a wetsuit! Returned it for a large and it's still pretty snug but not super tight like a wetsuit.

The problem is, as you go up in size, the shirts get longer so I didn't want to get an XL for fear that it would look like I was wearing a tennis dress. The shirt is very soft though, and even though it's snug, it doesn't restrict your movement.

Some pics of me wearing the shirt for reference...
