    1. Mirnyi def. Roddick 7-6 6-2 (A loss probably everyone knows about by now but still disappointing).

    2. Youzhny def. Henman 7-5 6-1. The defending champion is out. Enough said.

    3. Stepanek def. Spadea 6-2 6-3. Maybe this isn't really considered an upset since we're talking about the guy who holds the record for the worst losing streak but still, I would have assumed that the winner would have been Spadea but oh well.

All I can say is that this tournament is now wide open for the lower ranked players. The only seeded players left are Hewitt and Safin and they're probably going to meet in the quarters so by the time the semis roll around, the top 3/4 of the draw will be all unseeded players. Not to mention Stepanek and Mirnyi are qualifiers.

I'm predicting a Soderling/Youzhny top half semi and a Hewitt/Canas bottom half semi. Yes, yes I do think that Hewitt will beat Safin. What is everyone else's semi predictions?

That's kind of unbelievable. Safin had a real nice start making the final Down Under early on in the season. However, besides his late surge after the US Open...he really hasn't done a whole lot. He was bounced in the first round at both the us open and wimbledon. But kudos to him. It's nice to see him back where he belongs (in the top 5). Perhaps this will motivate him to do bigger and better things next year.
