I have a question about Safin's real racquet.
It is generally accepted that he is using PC600.
But, I want to know if that PC600 is retail PC600 (or a specially ordered and manufactured for pros.)?
I thought this is retail PC600s painted as MGP mid and then modified (lead taped) according to Safin's own taste.
But a guy here is consistently saying that's never chance of a player like Safin using a retail racket (however it is customized later).
I just want to know the fact.

    What about Murray?

    Thank you very much!

Not sure about Safin but Murray is using a modified Prestige Pro and has done since AO in 2008. If you do a search, you'll find plenty of threads with pics and evidence to go with them.

I'll be curious to see what the answer is on Safin. If you search for Mega Review 3, some guys did a multi stick test that included one of Safin's actual frames. Actually, here's the link below.

I have a couple of Safin's frames that are the i.prestige PJ and they are not the retail PC600. It is defiantly lighter and has lead at 12, 3, 9 o'clock, and handle as well as silicone in the handle.

Thanks for the info and thanks for letting them borrow for the review-it was interesting reading their feedback :) I've always loved the sound of the ball coming off Safin's stick-like a rifle shot!

I also have one FXP pj'ed PT10. I agree that, I think they are lighter than retail PC600s, so this allows more room for customization for the pros.

Btw- I am in search for another PT10. Can anyone be of help?

Ya the PT10 is the mold basically and they come in around 11oz for customization. The 3 PT10s I have came in all at 11oz and had silicone in the handle.

Dunno, maybe he's the newest recruit at "Standford". I think Fedace knows his mother as well.

So, the PT10 frames you have do not have safin name decaled in the racquet, but where the player name is supposed to be (little box) is empty (no names) correct?

So these were the base racquets with no customization on them with the exception of the sili in handle?

    Kuang155, thanks for the information.
According to your information, Safin haven't ever used (customized) retail PC600 nor modified PC 600. Right?

First question is what is PT 10? Was PT 10 a retail one? Because I cannot find any information about pro tour 10.

    Another question,
When Safin is in contraction with Dunlop, he used black pj of some head racket. (No doubt he tried dunlop and failed )
Was the racekt also specially manufactured (for only Safin) and provided by Head (to someone whose contraction with the company has been expired.)? What do you think?

No, the TGK237.1 code refers to the real MG Prestige Mid, and Sanfin has never used that mold.

It is a PC600 mold layered to Safin's specs but it only weighs around between I would say 10-11 ounces, then there is lead tape at 12, 3, and 9 o'clock with silicon in the handle. Also on the handle is more lead tape at the bottom of the grip and more lead halfway up the handle to get a final weight of around 13 ounces with a head calfskin grip.

The PT10 is a PC600 mold available to the players. It is basically the same thing. Around 10-11 ounces from the factory and you can add lead or silcone to the desired weight. You just don't see the Prestige 600 collar on some of them.

I have seen a safin racq picture (with his name decaled in "safin, marat" fashion, as well as tension/date sticky inside throat) that one had the lead strips put not under the bumper but directly on the racquet visibly. And the lead strips did not reach to 3&9 o'clock. It did end at somewhere 11&2ish. And there was perhaps a tiny bit of gap with no lead (the little gap is equal to the spacing between two main strings) right at 12pm.

PC/PT600s are the BEST, but BEST serving sticks, period, imo.

Well, Safin was known to tinker with his setup from tournament to tournament so he could have left the 3 and 9 oclock untouched. Here are a couple pics of the throat area that had his name but were scratched off for redistribution and a picture of the lead under a PT10 at stock specs.
