It's basically in between old Gamma Supreme and Wilson Pro in term of thickness, weight, durability, and feeling in term of how rubbery(pro being the least rubbery) it is. Tackiness lasts longer than the other 2.

So far sounds great, but 3 issues.

First, it's a little shorter than both Wilson pro and Gamma Supreme. No by a lot but shorter for sure.

Second, brand name and logo stamped on the grip, which I don't like, but it's not as "deep" as some others, not too big of a deal but still a con for sure.

Third, it's the harshest feeling OG I've ever tried. It feels really good if you just grip it, but once you start playing, you will feel the harshness. This likely will be a deal break for some people.

    1. How much spacing did you wrap it with? Most people wrap too closely which is why it's shorter than needed, and also you get more ridges which I dislike.
    2. Is the logo where a one hander wouldn't be bothered with?
    3. What do you mean by harsh? Rough?

Yeah can you explain in more details what you mean by harsh?

I have been searching for a replacement for the Wilson mainly due to durability issue. I hate to have to change grips every 2 hours as they don't last as long as the older ones from a year or two years ago.

I don't think it's a QC issue as I have tried purchasing the 50, 30, and 10 pack and compared to the older ones, I notice the new ones wrinkle significantly when wrapping around the handle compared to the older grips.

Seems like most overgrips from the smaller companies are shorter in length.

1, It's not that short, I overlap 30-40% in first half and as little as possible in second half, it barely fit, where with Wilson/gamma fits perfectly as I wrap them, no trim needed.

2, No, 2 logo per grip....

    3. Harsh means my hand doesn't feel good while playing, even a little bit of painful. Never happened with Wilson pro, Gamma supreme, Yonex super, Tourna original, Volkl V-Touch etc....Maybe due to wrong type of tack.

Not that bad overall, I can use it, just wouldn't buy again.

Now that's really bad news for me, I am about to go back to Wilson after I found out Gamma changed the supreme and Solinco wasn't as good as many review suggests.

As for harshness, see my last post, hard to explain in details though.

Yeah, no idea why would they do that, the cost of 5-10 extra CM is so low, why not just let people have more than enough?

Thanks for clearing that up. I've been waiting for a replacement for the old Gamma Supreme, Super Grap was tissue paper(never get yellow, for some reason it ripped more than other colors did in the past). I can understand how the tack could be harsh, when I first used Gamma Supreme it would stick to my hand tightly and every time I mishit a ball it would shred my hands. :(

I have used Supreme in the past, and it was my choice of OG before, the tack was great at first, but the durability died quickly on me. I've tried most of the tacky grips out there, Wilson Pro wasnt tacky enough for me, Supergrap was not too bad, but too thin.

I've settled on tourna tac, its a thicker tackier grip that I prefer. But still doesnt last terribly long. Always wondered about these solinco grips, could you compare if you've tried tournatac?

Is the Tac much thicker than the original? I've never played with it, but original feels great, but way too thin for me, like many many dry OG.

Yes, to me tac is somewhat thicker than the original. It's definitely much thicker than Wilson Pro and Supergrap that's for sure.

If you're looking for something similar to supreme, tac is worth a try.

The biggest problem for me is finding a grip that still offers feel and has tack. Wilson Pro used to be the best grip but now durability is just terrible lasting about half as long as before.

I have also tried Kirschbaum which is pretty close to Wilson Pro in tac and feel but they have their logo on the grip which I don't like. Mantis also has the same tack as Wilson Pro but it's thicker.

Has anyone tried the Prince Duratac + ?

So, is Mantis just like Wilson Pro, but only thicker? I've got to give it a try if that's the case.

Yes, Mantis has that Wilson tac feel but is thicker but also has the issue of the Mantis logo on the grip which I don't like.

Logo strikes again... We know what grip we are using, and other people will not be close enough to see it, why they just keep doing things that cost them extra and make the product worse?

They figure they might as well advertise their product. I guess with the Mantis one unlike the Kirschbaum, it's just two Ms whereas the Kirschbaum ones have their logo all over the grip. Both grips are pretty good but I can't stand having logos on the grip.

I guess I am going to have to try out some other ones like Head, Volkl, Technifibre, and Prince to see which ones came replace the Wilson Pro grip.

Which Mantis OG are you referring to? I find that Mantis Performa Tac (0,5 mm) is thinner than Wilson Pro (0,6 mm) but thicker than Wilson Pro Sensation (0,4 mm). To me those measurements fell accurate. I Always use white by the way, have no idea if there are any differences using other colors.

Long time since I tried Prince Duratac +, however I made a note that it was somewhat similar to Wilson Pro (size, tack, durability).

Mantis Performa Perforated (0,6 mm) however is a totally different animal. Not as tacky as the above mentioned, but more "rubbery" that works quite well I think. Somewhat like a better version of Head Xtreme Soft (0,55 mm) if memory serves me right.

It's funny how personal feel is on an overgrip. Tried the Solinco Wonder for the first time last night, and it is now my co-favorite overgrip with Wilson Perforated Pro.

I hate finding a grip that looks like something I might like, and then seeing that it has a huge, gaudy logo plastered all over it. Just not my preference.
