Wake Forest has a legit gripe in their placement. Clemson got a lot better of a draw. A weaker 1 and a weaker 3 to face.

Our no. 1 on our high school team is going to Clemson, an ACC school, next year.

On the women's side, Duke announced the signing of the current #1 in the 2013 class, Chalena Scholl. That's eight scholarships.Does that mean Beatrice Capra is not coming back?

Or maybe, Capra is coming back and they're taking away someone's scholarship? Or someone could be transferring?

Good to see Jarmere Jenkins off to a strong start in his professional career. Any other players from the ACC having impressive summer results?

Ronnie Schneider rising freshman for UNC has qualified through the USTA playoffs to play in the US Qualifying playoffs (winner gets into the qualies) but so has Jesse Witten

all the attention has gone to Ronnie Schneider for the Heels commits. However their other big commit Brayden Schnu,r has made the final of a Canadian future this week. Beating top junior Filip Peliwo and former UCLA star Nicolas Meister along the way.

I have been telling fellow UVa fans that UNC will be much better next year. I can't stand any UNC team, but I have to admit they will be back in the ACC competition next year.

Maybe one of the injured players will not be able to recover. That is another possibility, sad as it is.

They can offer 8 scholarships total. Injured players still count against that total. When Jamie offered a second scholarship to an incoming freshman that was Capra's scholarship. If she is on the team she is a walk on.
I was wondering if anyone had heard if she went pro or, perhaps, will be playing for another school.

Injured players don't count against the total if the injury is judged by a doctor to be career-ending. Then the injured player can be carried on scholarship, not play, and not count toward the total of eight scholarships, per NCAA rules.

I've seen him play about 4 times. He stands close to the baseline and likes to dictate points. He has an odd forehand grip, cocks his wrist back and hits it high, it creates like an opposite way spin. It's a precise shot that hits it's spots. It's unique and can definetly see how people would struggle with it. I don't remember his backhand or serve, basic shots I think.

Ronnie Schneider got crushed 6-0 6-1 by Sakissian of Pepperdinin Joplin. It's looking more and more like Schnurr may be ahead of Schneider next year.

I'm going to bet Ronnie plays ahead of schnurr. Not being argumentative. I don't see the coach using the summer results as a primary basis for his line up. We'll see.

Good day, bad day, injury. Sarkissian is a good player. Could be anything.

I'll be in Godfrey, IL tomorrow. Let you know if I find out. I'll also look for anurhimg worth reporting.

I'm not saying Paul will play him over Schneider because of summer results but that the results than Schnur could actually be the better player and could get better in college. But we will see.

I had time to look over Schur and Schneider's results going back further and in mrr detail. Rethinking my position you may well be correct. Big picture, those two should do some damage as freshman this year.

My boy Isade Juneau plays at 8 and i cannot get there that early, now considering a trip to Lexington for the challenger qualies instead. Both are about 3-3 1/2 hour drives from me.

I ended up going to Godfrey and caught the end of Ronnies game. He won easily 0 and 1 but the guy he played was 41! Ronnies big weakness is his serve, this guy was stepping into the court and returning it 3-4 feet from the baseline, Ronnie then handled him easily but this will hurt him against better players.

And Vinsant qualifies as a lucky loser and plays Devin McCarthy who just graduated from an ohio state.

Marco Nunez transfers from Georgia to Florida State......not too surprised because he wasn't going to be in the top 6 next year - article

FSU just added another freshman recruit on Friday. That is 6 freshman and a sophomore transfer.

I count five freshmen plus one transfer. Two of the freshmen are four-star recruits who probably don't count on making the top six in singles as freshmen, but that is still a lot of competition for spots. Georgia transfer Nunez and the two blue chip recruits probably plan on cracking the top six immediately, and the team returns six guys who got top six playing time most of the year, unless someone is not coming back. But a twelve man roster is pretty common these days.

I agree, I just can't remember the last time FSU had more than 10 guys on the roster.

Good question. That kid has had a great summer. I've changed my position from earlier this summer. To answer your question I'd say it depends on his size and style of play. If he's a big aggressive kid, he'll play #1, if he's smaller and grinds like Ronnie, it's a coin toss. I've never seen Schnur nor seen him play, but have seen Ronnie play and that kid is very good.

And don't forget about Hess-Olesen. Experienced college player and made a huge stride from his freshman to sophomore year.
