I have been using Timo 17 in mains and nat gut in crosses,

Going to try nat gut 18 in the mains and Ace or Timo 18 in the crosses. Any suggestions on which to try for the poly.

I've been using gut mains and TiMO crosses for a long time now. This combination seems to work out well for me in all my racquets.
I do use 16L g gut and 17g crosses though. I'm not sure I'd use such thin gut. It may break faster than the 16L or 17g gut would in this combination.

    You count 1.20mm as 18G? That's bs.

As does pretty much everybody when it comes to gut. Make it thinner and good luck stringing it at reasonable tensions.

Genesis just came out with another 1.20mm gut. Drakulie will be testing that out soon.

I think the gauge indications for guts are a bit off compared to other strings-

    But 16 is 1.30, 17 is 1.25 so 18 should be 1.20, correct :)
