Ok guys, just bought the blade 98 16x19 and I have to make some changes with weight and balance. My only problem is I've never added lead to anything in my life!! I've been reading the site and have an understanding of what I need to do to get what I want but just don't know how to do it. I'm wanting to improve stability and plow through so I'm thinking of adding weight to 3 and 9 position and some in the handle.

I have been previously hitting with blx 6.1 95 and liked the feel of it so I guess I'm trying to go in that direction but not quiet that overall heavy.

How much lead should I add at 3 and 9 and then in the butt cap? Should I keep it all the same? Do you just stick the lead tape to the outside of the grommet or do you stick it to the frame underside of grommet (having to wait on re-stringing). Also do you put the lead inside the handle or wrap it around the top of the grip on the shaft? Hopefully I will get enough info to get this done without to much damage :)

As for the lead I bought Gamma brand .25 inch strips. It says 1 inch of lead tape weighs 1/4 gram

I usually use 4 inch strips at 3 and 9. I'll typically put 2 strips on either side of the string bed (one layered on top of the other). Which equals 4 grams per side. I will then counter balance at 7 inches from the butt cap. This last time I counter balanced with 6 grams of lead underneath the grip (typically just below the tape off point of your grip).

You can play around with the counterbalancing and put weight in the butt cap. I usually don't do that unless I am counter balancing weight that I put at 12 o'clock.

Hope that's clear as mud :)

Ok guys, I added 6 grams to the 3 and 9 position (3x 2in strips on each side of string bed) and needing to counter balance. Do I need to place it in the handle or wrap it around the handle some where (if so where)?

I would add it under the grip 7 inches up from the butt cap. Which will place the lead just below where the grip pallet ends.
