AeroPro Drive GT vs APD Cortex

Any thoughts from you AeroPro users on which racquet you prefer between the older cortex and newer GT. Maybe you can comment on which you feel is more arm-friendly and hits better. I also assume most of you APD users on the board use lead, as it is a fairly light stick.

On another note, how would the new APDGT compare with PDRGT?? I have demoed these racquets briefly, except the old cortex APD, but would love other perspectives. tnx

Thanks for the link. You think this could be an arm-friendly stick with some lead and good multi strung low, despite 70 stiffness?

With a good bit of lead, and some soft multi you can make this frame easy on the arm. I wouldn't expect it to be 100% "arm friendly" but you can make it playable. I guess it really depends on how "friendly" you need it to be.

Thanks phoenix. I see in your signature you have the pdr's. How do you like the aero pro compared to the pdr gt? More or less arm-friendly as well? Tnx

Well I have played with both the cortex and GT version of both frames (Aero and PDR). The Aero Pro I will take the GT HANDS DOWN!!! I absolutely hated the hollow feel of the cortex version. The GT version felt like a totally different frame which I enjoyed hitting with very much. The PDR on the other hand I liked the cortex version much better. The PDR GT was not a bad frame but the muted feel wasn't for me.

When I compare the two together they play very similar. The one defining factor for me was that the PDR gave me more pop and better suited my game.

When it comes to making these frames arm friendly you need to look more toward the string setup than anything. I do 52 poly mains and 56 synthetic gut crosses and haven't had trouble since.
