So I understand lead is poisonous, is there anything I need to put over the lead tape after I'm done? Do I just slap it on and start playing?

You go ahead and start playing.

When your lead strips get dull looking, you can lick them to restore their shine.

You don't need to worry about lead tape, handling it for short periods is fine. Just wash your hands afterwards throughly and don't lick/eat it :)

You can always put duct tape over the lead tape.

If you are worried about it you can put some form of tape over it. Pros who's career depend on staying healthy use lead tape and leave it uncovered all the time. If they are not worried then I wouldn't worry about it.

    TO THE MODS:

Please make a sticky about lead tape that says something like the following:

"Lead tape is no so dangerous as to give its users lead poisoning as long as the users do not lick, chew, smell, inhale, sniff or eat it.

If users are afraid of lead poisoning from lead tape, think about the amalgam used in tooth filling -- it contains mercury -- and it's in your mouth every second for the rest of your life."

    Thank you.
