I was just watching a crazy point in the Verdasco/Vliegen match. A shot from Vliegen had to be 3-4 inches out and was called in. Verdasco got to it, hit the line with his return and had HIS shot called out. Both balls were too far away from the chair for an overrule and this was a HUGE point in the game. So, of course, we got a shot of both line judges as the announcers talked about the horrible calls and they BOTH had to be around 70 years old!!! No disrespect at all to older people, but I don't think my eyes are good enough to do that job and I'm in my 20s. Has anyone else noticed the age of the line judges at Wimbledon before? Do they typically hire seniors to do this job or was this just a bizarre coincidence? Just seems really unfair to players on courts where you are unable to challenge.
