After you've brought the string to the desired tension, what is correct way to unlock the lock thing after i've clamped that string? I've been lucky a couple times with unlocking it with my finger but it's pretty sharp and i'm sure thats not the right way. Thanks anyone

I have a similar stringer, and there is a smooth, curved end on the ratchet lock that you should use to unlock the ratchet after tensioning. Maybe yours is a little different, but I don't think that there is any special mechanism. It's just a spring loaded piece of metal. Similar to what you would find on any ratcheting mechanism.
