Lets start this off by saying I am American, and this is NOT a thread for bashing American tennis players, or Americans on a whole. I've noticed that most American male professional players have trouble keeping their emotions in check. They seem to let things affect them faster than other players, and it usually results in their games going right down the tubes. Now don't get me wrong, other players do get frustrated, but they usually don't let it affect their play. Or, for guys like Ferrer, you would never know if he was getting annoyed at all. Roddick has always had his outbursts, Fish has them from time to time, Harrison implodes when even one thing doesn't go his way, and Donald Young lets things get in his head and just gives up. So my question is this: why does this happen? Is it the way coaches/family treat them at a young age? Or does it just so happen that most American players just happen to have temper issues?
