Because like all tennis pro's he's a creature of habit, when something works, you stick with it. I was reffering more to the weight, balance and tension than to the actuall frame. I'm also reffering to him when he's at home practicing, of course when he's competing he makes sure everthing is perfect, so he uses P1... But when he's at home practicing i can promise you he doesnt.

Maybe it's what Head, UK Tennis or Nickie B had laying around.

That HAS to be Tourna Grip XL...I use a 4 3/8 and The original Tourna grip is too short, even if I put the over grip very tight.

I switched to Ozone Tour after all, and I really like them, but I also bought Youtek Prestige Pro, and I am waiting for them to arrive.

If they do well, I'll switch to Head after many years with Prince.

ONE more question I have about Andy's sticks: HOW the handle was modified from 4 3/8 to something thinner?

And Karakal grip, is easy to put on the stick? I never changed an original grip before. It would be a LONGER grip? I see that Andy's grips are longer than the stock Prestige Pro.

Sorry for so many questions but if someone found a thread about the customization of a Head grip, please let me know...

    Thank you all

Don´t you think that these two frames are different in form.

The old MG Radical was much like the Prestige Pro in it´s form
    [IMG]

when the new YT Radical looks almost like the old Head Pro Tour, just with a 16/19 string pattern, a more bowly form
    [IMG]

    Can anyone clear this up?

Agreed, that´s what i posted underneath.

I believe that Andy´s old MG Radical was just a modified MG Prestige Pro (maybe a bit heavier) and now he switched back to the PT75A like he used to, back then with the PT75A (I.Radical Paintjob and 18/20 patterns).

it probably is XL, but if you look you'll see there is no overlap on the tournagrip, as there is no overlap for the Karakal replacement grip underneath. It's also stretched very tight, to reach the throat.

Take a look at this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eql8Jnpa9Bs

Andy gets his handles customized at P1, he`s gripsize is somewhere between 3/8 and 1/2

I think that's because he has a custom pallet, not because of the way the overgrip was put on. Maybe Murray's pallet is a bit like Soderling's here: http://hdtennis.com/grs/pro_racquet_specs/200903soderling_head.html

Murray has custom molded handles but they are not like Soderling's.

Hmmm are those Murray's actual frames? The grip looks like a standard dunlop/wilson one

Yes, those are Murray's actually racquets. Head pallets are interchangeable and are either black or gray. These are custom molded.

Most likely he doesn't like the Head rectangular grip shape

I recall someone from P1 emailing me saying Djokovic and Murray both use cutom moulded handles and not the regular head pallet system, as shown by pics above. I find it difficult to adjust my sw forehand grip with the head pallets, as the top two bevels are very wide so its difficult to find the middle ground (for a SW grip).

This is an interesting thread. It's a long thread so excuse me if I'm asking something that was mentioned and I missed it but how did ericsson get this frame? I think he posted that you'd be surprised what you get in the mail or something like that but I did not see mention of how he got one of Murray's frames. I skimmed through the posts and did not see it but if he did please excuse the redundancy here but just curious how he got it.

    Thanks,

    James

How can you tell that is no overlap for the Karakal grip? From the pictures I've seen this only for the overgrip, which is XL, because I used regular Tournagrip, with no overlap and streched very tight, but it was still too short to cover the whole grip. By the way, I don't like without overlap because with time it slips

I bought rounder pallets TK 82, and I will replace the regular (more rectangular) Head pallets. What sticky tape should I use? or the glue from the old ones will remain on the handle and there will not be necessary another sticky tape?

The way the tournagrip is wraped, it clearly falls into the grooves which are caused by no overlap with the Karakal PU grip.. and I've also seen a picture or two without an OG on his frames, and theres just a tiny amount of overlap, to keep the grip from slipping, I presume. But he doesn't overlap.
