Yea outside of the socks. I wear a size 9 in my tennis shoes and I wear a medium. So you may want to consider medium or large. Hope this helps.

I have actually sprained my ankle 8 or 9 times this past year from mostly basketball but a couple times playing tennis. My ankle is very weak now and the nerves are not too good right now but I bought this ankle brace and you can totally tell how nice it is....It is very comfortable and works very well. I also want to say that this is not roddicks brace..its HEWITTS haha

wow, thanks. i almost got a small.

I called up TW today and they said you're supposed to measure around your ankle...which would mean i could fit into a small...

i think i should go with medium cuz I am 9.5-10.5 or so.

I think I almost got a small too; But I measure my barefoot and not with my socks on. Sometimes I wear more than one pair of socks, so that lead me to getting the medium. I never had any problems.

any of you guys use other brand and think it's just as good?

a guy I met yesterday was using...McDavid ones. I've seen these at most big sporting good stores.

i just picked up the McDavid ones. when i examine the ASO one's picture, I see that it looks almost IDENTICAL to the mcdavid one...exact same concept. lace up. then the figure 8 like straps..then the main wrapping strap at the top.

I'll post some pics when i get a chance. can anyone shoot some pics of their aso one?

is it rigid at all? the only way to get the mcdavid one kinda rigid is to make it pretty snug/tight. there are no hard reinforcements or plastic stabilizers.

one thing I must say about these... if you don't lace them up AND lace up your shoes tightly.... these will bring you even more injury...

I didn't have my shoes that tight and because of the slick surface of the straps on these, my foot slid/twisted while in my shoe.

When I just have a sock on it grips the sole of my shoe better, ...so if you're gonna use this, you better lace up your shoes tight, so your foot with this Brace won't slide at all.

Now down to 4 feet behind the baseline.
Ace: Still haven't gotten to try out the Nike Sleeves. My parents didn't want to order them with my last purchase from TW for some reason.

I rolled my ankle yesterday so I'm looking for some ankle support..have never used anything before.
My local shop only carries Tru-Fit.

Does any one have any experience with Tru-Fit ankle braces...how do they compare with ASO...etc

    Thanks
    Chris

I would go to a medium, I wear size 9.5 in nike and a 10 in addidas, and the medium fits fine.

Yes. The McDavid/ASO is better. The figure 8 straps lock around your ankle and the difference in support is noticeable. It is much closer to actual taping the ankle (the best option).

Roddick twisted his ankle using the ASO braces check it out here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeEZtktdZzk

Don't think I will use them, I am thinking in buying the Aircast A60 or the Mueller Hg80 Rigid Braces, I think either of these two would be better for preventing ankle sprains, I am sure the braces helped him avoid a worst injury but still he twisted his ankle wearing these. I had a mild sprain ankle maybe level 1 1/2 3 weeks ago and I think I will be ready to start playing next week, I really want to recover fully before steeping on the court again and don't really want to go trough this ever again.

Omg Blake can tell the future because he was almost right about Roddick winning Wimbledon.

I would go with a small, i would fit you good..
If you are looking for the top off the line ankle brace i can't say enough good things about the AirCast A60.
I have used them for about 8 month now and i have no complaints:p
