Maybe this has been discussed before. Sorry I'm just too lazy to search.

Let's assume tension is 50 lbs in all cases. If I wanted to string a hybrid of natural gut (mains) with poly (crosses), would it matter if I strung the mains first or not? I'm just thinking weaving the NG bewteen the poly (i.e. stringing the cross first) may be a bit easier.

    Your thoughts?

Yep, good feedback on that thread. I keep clippers in my bag so that if I pop a main, I can get the crosses snipped right away and take the worst stress off the frame. Then I cut the mains. I think of a frame like an egg in that it's a whole lot stronger in the direction of the mains, but uneven tension is usually horrible for it.
