Im not sure if this is rotator cuff or not.
I notice when I practice serve too much this pain starts to come up.
I can raise my arm above my head no problem with my palms facing forward, but not when my palms face down. The pain it mostly on the back/top side, almsot feels like its inside the joint.
I cant do push ups, but pull ups are fine.
Serves are where I notice it the most, but I can still do them, and I only notice it on backhands at full extension/high follow through.

does that sound like something a weeks rest will cure?

If you haven't been...go to a doctor that's is the only way to know for sure. Wouldn't want to get hurt worse by playing more and then not being able to play for a long time if it ends up serious would you?

It sounds like you've done the same exact thing that I did. How old are you because I'm 15 and my body's still growing thats why I got my problem but if you're not still growing it might be something else. You should really go to the doctor and not play for a little while.

its a little better today, I can kind of do push ups now, Im just going to feel it out day by day. and do some light stretching and tension exersices.

I think it mainly stems from hitting serves to low.
