hey, I've always wanted to see this guy play a full match. He seemed like a really effortless, enjoyable player to watch, so if anyone has any full matches of him, can you please post?

I understand some people have copies of the 1970 Sydney Dunlop Open between Laver and Rosewall. I have never seen it but I read that it was a great match.

I have one of these copies, from a British seller. The match has many great rallys with both players using every corner of the court, runnig back and forth, changing between net and baseline play -a bit like Borg-Gerulaitis several years later. The court at Sydney seems to be pretty slow. Rosewalls defensive game is solid like a wall. He has problems with Laver's returns and stays mainly back on his second serve. Laver has problems with his serve - i think he serves 16 dfs, an omen for his main technical problems in his late career. But his weight of shot especially on the backhand is excellent. When the backhand is going well, it is more punishing and deadly than Rosewalls own famous backhand. At the begin of the fifth set, Laver makes a bh winner, laying flat on the ground.
On internet sellers i saw other matches of Rosewall, including his losses to Connors in 1974 and his Wim sf with Smith of 74. There are also longer excerpts of some matches on youtube including his 1969 RG final and the mentioned Smith match.

El Rincón del Tenis ( has two of them for download:

The 1970 Wimbledon final against Newcombe:

The 1974 Wimbledon final against Connors:

Unfortunately he wasn't at his best in either of these matches, specially in the second one, of course. Although there's better full matches available, I think you won't find any footage from his early 60's peak apart from short clips.
