  2. Never heard of Safin, and never seen him play?! Where's the "speechless" Smilie?

I suggest you start here: http://home.comcast.net/~ravenhawks/

Click on "Matches by Player's Name"" >> Marat Safin. (No, this is not a plug for my own site.)

I have to ask about that stuff in your sig. Are these the specs on your wife?

  , since when do you follow tennis? 6 months ago?

seriously how could you never even seen a highlight of him?

He has been around for like 6 years in the mainstream, he beat Sampras in US open final in 2000.

I just realized how amazing of a statistic it is to have beaten FedEx last year.

I only do this for my wife as she is returning to Tournament playing, I am fresh to tennis only 8months or so and don't even have a rating, have never played a real game before to behonest.

I am here just for her, to gather as much info as I can, What she lacks in training, diet, discipline, ect I can fullfill and fix.

She is finally this year ready to start again and we will retest to see where she is at, she was 5.0 before stoping 3 years ago.

And it has been what a year sense Safin has played, I did not say I did not hear of him that I have never seen him play.

I know he has a custom Prestige made, I know that previously he use and was sponsored by Dunlop and played with with the MW or something simular? like Tommy Hass.

I think that it is funny that most people on these boards have been here and/or playing tennis for years to decades yet I know more than them in my 1 years worth of reasearch.

    Check my posts, thanks

Hi, if you're looking for Safin video highlights you can go to the safin lounge and download mostly Australian Open highlights. If you want photos of his grip fh or bh grips or some analysis of his fh & bh try looking at safinator.com. I hope that helps.

I'm with you on this one. It's what's really disappointing about this board. It ruins the experience for people with general interest to this noble sport.

Where are the mods when you need them?

I am participating in several of them. None of them is a tennis board though, so I'm stuck with this one.

Besides, a lot of people on this board are friendly so I have no problems with them and feel well at home. It's such really "clever" responses from underprivileged individuals such as yourself that really taint it.

Thank you for coming out of the closet.

Sure Noelle, I believe we can, but sometimes someone has to get spanked or it's not happening. ;)

Also, excuse my double posting... not intentional.

PS. Noelle, if you can delete my empty posts in this thread, please. They've been put up accidentally and I don't intend to raise my post count this way.

So why do you even think for a second that this coment pertains to you in any shape or form?

    #17
  18. Why, when you come to the Pro Player Discussion section of a tennis forum in 2006 and say you have never seen Marat Safin play, then deny that you said you never saw Marat play, are you surprised to get some unkind replies?

I quoted you above saying some people find it "unattainable" to help, because I was the first to reply to your post, by pointing you to a site to get a DVD quality of several of Marat's best matches for pretty cheap and easy -- just order online and get it in the mail. Yet you still said people won't help you with your ridiculous question.

How is it that you claim you have never seen Marat Safin play and yet you know more about tennis than most of the posters here...?
Not a good idea to attack other posters, especially if you are new. Gives you a bad rep.

Tennis knowledge constitutes of many more things than just having seen Safin play. I'm guessing the original poster meant something along this line.

Gugafan> It is quite obvious to me that he was provoked by a comment by el profe, and that his remark wasn't addressed your way. He did have an oportunity to thank you, tho and he missed it - twice. That's what separates my line of thinking from his.

There is undoubtedly a lot of unnecessary hostility on this board coming from certain users, and the guy was probably additionally provoked by shifting focus from answering his question to nitpicking he's explanation why he's interested. But I'm not him, I don't really know.

Are you confusing me with the original poster here? Coz he's not new, he registered around the same time you did. And if you're referring to me - I'm not attacking anyone that hasn't attacked me first. Just follow the thread.

I am however sticking to my statement that SOME users of this board suffer from "Internet bully" syndrome. Their behaviour should be discouraged, both by regular users and mods alike. I don't see neither you, nor Gugafan in that cathegory, and I haven't seen there the person who launched a personal attack on me in this thread.

I was agreeing with the original poster for reasons I've just explained above. Other than that, I wasn't attacking anyone that hasn't attacked me first. I will continue to do so, regardless of their possible status on this board. Bad manners are just that, no matter who they're coming from. Besides, personal attacks are against TW board policy - and they should be moderated. That's all I've said.

There, I felt I needed to explain myself. :)

You are really taking this too far, I said that I have never seen him play, and I never have not even highlights, but I know a great deal about players, rackets, and sticks in general in my limited time.

No I did not say that no one would help me at all, I said that that some people are just plain jerks and like to make coments insted of just helping.

I all my responses (check all my posts) I reply with direct help, not ignorant coments.

If you are offended that I did not personally thank you then say so, then I will say "Thank you for your help Gugafan, can't beat owning actual footage! "

Relax;) and again thank you for helping so quickly

i have to say the clips are real early Safin though, circa 2000. I do think there are some slight but noticeable differences when compared with Safin of 2005.
