Any table tennis players here and your views on its differences from tennis

Anybody who play BOTH tennis and table tennis here? I was on my school team for table tennis and picked up tennis at a later age, and I found them to be entirely DIFFERENT sports despite similar names. In table tennis you can drive the ball with a much more closed racquet face as the top spin you can generate is much greater with the small ball. The forehand top spin stroke is like an open stance forehand but without the laid back wrist and the hitting through but instead an extreme closed racquet face brushing up motion with a continental grip.

Also, there is much more emphasis on spin and the use of the wrist. If you can't read spin in table tennis you are pretty much doomed whereas you can topspin most balls back in tennis if you're pretty good. You can also generate ENORMOUS power with the flick of the wrist and backhand strokes in particular places heavy emphasis on the wrist.

Just want to see how many actually play table tennis regularly here and hear their opinions on it.

Tennis =/= Squash =/= Badminton =/= Racquetball =/= Table tennis

I would call tennis the most difficult of these by far, while most others are more intensive (f.e. badminton and squash)

I play tennis, table tennis and badminton regularly, and all 3 are completely different. At a recreational level I suppose there are some transferable skills, but as you get better, these skills have to be re-worked and made into techniques that are specific to one discipline.
